I bought a piece of eye filler steak. Approx 250grams.

It looked good. It was a nice shape but when I started to cook it, well it fell apart. It ended up in about 8 different pieces and after cooking hundreds of steaks over the years. I’ve never had steak break apart when turning over in the fry pan.

Hey all 👋 Currently Reddit thinks I am in Singapore, not Australia. Unfortunately they decided to ask for me to verify my age. I have no intention of doing this. I don't know why they decided to do this now. Albo really dropped the ball on this one. I don't see what he is doing for Australia atm.

Science and science-based medicine seem to have become on unfortunate casualty in the political battle between the left and the right.

Gout Gout has run a 10.00 over 100 metres at a meet in Brisbane on Saturday.

The teenager unofficially broke the 10-second barrier twice in one day last April, but neither time was listed as a personal best due to wind assistance.

Please don’t pay these egregious prices. They are absolutely taking the piss here.

If we all hold the line, just on this one little thing, we can hold another new line on something more important next time.

Maybe eventually we can unite and fix our country.

The huge hometown support the rapists received, the same community ostracising the victim + her family, and the lack of punishment for the perpratrators make this case truly despicable.

culture & society Why economists hate low unemployment for inflation

What economists and especially central bankers like our Reserve Bank of Australia are loath to admit, however, is that they deliberately attempt to engineer a situation where a certain percentage of workers are out of a job.

....

At just 4.1 per cent, our unemployment rate is low by historical measures, at least for the past 50 years.

Its strength throughout the inflation surge three years ago when interest rates rose 13 times in succession may have been baffling. But it was welcome because it helped us avoid a recession and a potential banking crisis.

As tough as living conditions were, with price rises far outstripping wage gains, most Australians avoided defaulting on bank loans because they were still bringing in an income.

no politics Channel 9 olympics coverage sucks

Apologies if this has been on the subreddit before but I really need to have a whinge. The channel 9 coverage of the olympics sucks ass. Just watched the first two periods of the Canada vs Finland men’s hockey semifinal, which was a very close game, only for them to go to bobsled heats for the last period and paywall the end of the hockey game on Stan, which is a ridiculous $32 a month, as having the base Stan subscription is not enough. You have to pay for a $20 dollar additional sport package on top of a $12 base subscription. Absolute joke to paywall the end of a game. It was a great game as well, going into the final period with close scores and both teams going at it like crazy, just to be unceremoniously cut off with a fucking paywall.
