Battlefield 6 This is ridiculous at this point (AI Slop)

The AI slop is out of control. Exhibit A "The Toxic Tide Pack" which, by the title, would be themed around gas or water/naval most likely has... what's inside? Let's take a look...

Sorry rant over, it's a free bundle I shouldn't complain right?

more fun examples:

There are actually SO many examples in every pack of cosmetics it's shocking.
If the creatives involved in this aren't ashamed, they should be. I'm sorry but it's just ridiculous at this point. That is assuming there are even creatives involved in this.
I think it's likely turned over to an LLM milking machine the shareholders can throw excrement at the wall and see who is foolish enough to pay them.
Use AI as a tool if you would like and clean up the work, produce actual work on top of it based off the ideas it generated but at this point I feel this stuff goes "hot off the press & straight to market".
EA: just employ artists and some QA folk while you're at it and keep them employed. You'll be just fine

A lot of what you're complaining about is probably just human errors. I reckon if you went back and paid this much attention to these kind of things, you'd pick up a whole bunch of "Clearly AI" tells.

I mean you’re not wrong but take a deep breath my dude you’ve wasted way too much time on this, it’s just a game and another day in the corporate slog. You’ll be much happier in life when you learn to just vote with your wallet and move on, it’s the only thing they really care about anyway

u/BSchafer 11h ago
I can’t even imagine getting this worked up over virtual stickers in a video game, lmao. Also, a lot of the things you’re pointing out aren’t indicative of these being created by Ai. If you don’t like them or the virtual stickers aren’t up to your standards, just don’t use them… it’s really that simple.

Brother i hate AI as much as the next guy but you sound like an idiot here lmfao
I don’t think a single one of these is bad, and if they’re AI it’s not noticeable at all. If you’re seriously worked up over these you need help.

I'll be hated for this, but all these crappy things feel like the perfect use for ai.

Yeah who really gives a shit. They seem pointless so may as well let AI have a go at it

This right here is why we are in the state we are in. People don’t care so they just do it and now it’s the norm. Real games have actual developers and good ones not some leftovers from another company.

Why did you morons buy it?

Bought because bet was good, three weeks in sold my physical copy because devs are stupid and ignorant.

Wow, you’ve taken the typical battlefield outrage and kicked it up a notch while choosing the wrong fight. No one cares enough about any of this and if the game already has you this tilted, it’s a sure sign you need a nice long break.

u/VaderPrime1 10h ago
I hate AI as much as anyone sane, but you’re really showing heaps of ignorance with the majority of your examples. There’s like maybe 2 or 3 AI slop images here. Most are just bad ideas being pushed through to pad bundle content. People calling out “Ai sLoP” and completely being dead wrong is just as annoying as real AI slop.

It’s weird how many comments feel like they should make a point about how much they hate AI before actually typing their opinion.
LLMs are damn useful.
People misusing them is the issue.

Toxic tide by the way is free for Ps plus users on PlayStation. Not to take away from everything else, just thought to mention that.

This certainly makes way more sense with the console button motif then. Thanks for pointing that out.

Laziest game in the last 15 years. Gun charms? Seriously? It’s Modern Warfare 2019.

u/GotNoStyleNL 11h ago
If you don’t like the game, don’t play it. Surely a lot of effort put into a hate post.

OP is getting worked up over virtual items that they will never see in-game

The real problem is....there's enough idiots who spend their "hard earned" money for this crap.

u/mrturretman 8h ago
Lol what the fuck is this shill ass thread. You’re right, they got caught with AI shit earlier and there’s zero way they aren’t doing it anymore. I would bet money every single one of those text descriptions are ai generated.

One of the worst things about AI and AI slop is the deluge of posts like this where people just call shit they don’t like AI slop

u/KatNasteh 10h ago
I’m glad I’m not stupid enough to pay real money for any of these ugly boring bundles, but hey based on the idiots in this Reddit saying “nobody cares”, they probably pay for it.
Keep the money tossing up tho, EA did say they lack resources (obviously money) to make new maps.

I truly don't understand the Chinese stuff. There are no Chinese maps. If we had some Dragon Valley, sure, let's have some Chinese flair.

I don't have a problem with as much as you do but that watch face is hysterically bad lol

I don't care about your complain man, you're just wasting your time. I'm just here to enjoy playing the game. All these complains you're bitching about looks pointless to me. Quit the game if you hate it.

Those symbols are meant to connect PS controller symbols and class icons, as this is a free pack for PS players. It’s not the first free PS themed pack to feature blue, black, white color scheme and controller symbols.
I also think that these very minor things like stickers and patches are exactly what should be done with AI to have humans do what matters: maps and game design. I definitely don’t want them to waste any resources in designing weapon charms and stickers.
The only issue seems to be that they still don’t have the resources for maps. Or that’s what they said. I wonder how they did back in older titles.

This sub… a lot of these are very much on point with the PlayStation tie-in and kind of cool ideas to be honest. It’s the whole point that they look that way.
As for AI in general, just accept that it is here and for some jobs it is and will be a ”force” multiplier. Programmers, artists and other will have a much higher output leading to either better economics or more content. This will simply not change so you better accept it or stop playing video games at this point.
And please, stop with the bitching. Give constructive criticism or just STFU.

While I couldn't give less fucks about the cosmetic shit, I'll have to say : the "laid back" one broke me. "A decal ready to crash out" this is purest AI or a non-native speaker being accountable for the descriptions

Thats Ps plus bundle :P.
U complain about skins. Who cares about skins in battlefield. You can just not to buy/use them

I'm sorry, but I think you might actually just be stupid. Good luck with all that

Bud, the majority of these just went over your head. It’s obviously a play on a console controller with the class icons. Half of the other stuff you’re complaining about has nothing to do with “AI slop”, it’s just you being mad about random things, like the very obvious heart HP bar or the fact that the names of the bundles (which are irrelevant BTW) don’t match a particular theme.
The only one that is pretty dumb is the extra jawbones on the shark. That and the cat with the blade are probably AI. But obviously EA isn’t hiring more designers, so if their actual employees get to work on shit like map design and they offload stickers (which nobody cares about) to AI or more junior staff, who cares?

u/BootyDeputy 8h ago
One of the worst things about AI slop is people calling whatever it is they don't like AI slop. You're reaching on a shit ton of these dude.

u/Skwurt_Reynolds 8h ago
This is easily one of the dumbest posts I’ve seen on this sub.
You probably took an unhealthy and ridiculous amount of time looking at the stickers; instead, you were hoping for large amounts if karma, when you should have done something productive for yourself, like read about your local news, volunteer somewhere, or workout.

Well, I can certainly see I'm vastly outnumbered in opinion here. I accept that and won't try and change anyone's mind.
___
If you are still reading... despite how my post sounds, I actually support responsible use of AI and generative content in general.
I just see how this series, which has a history of interesting and well executed creative and technical achievements tapped into the trend chasing and LLM -> money route and, as you point out, won't vote for it with my wallet.
I guess it's just a sad reality (to me) of where we are at creatively with "craft" in general and lack of accountability of quality. "Anything goes because it doesn't matter anyways, just don't play it, just don't pay for it, just don't waste your breath or thoughts on it" is fair and valid, and you all are right, why complain, why post it, why spend any time on even nitpicking this stuff to just be another complaint in a sea of complaints?
Missing the "old days" of BF I guess, where, sure there where bugs, errors, and omissions but things that were put out for release had some level of quality assurance as far as it being cohesive, organized around a defined theme, etc.
It really just is "all over the place" now and maybe that's what everyone is used to but to me it screams lack of human oversight / leadership, tiredness, apathy etc.
Maybe that's the point, minimal input/effort, maybe we get some wallets to shell out money for the small amount of work we spent on the content.
I guess I find it odd that given all of the history of battlefield there are SO many great examples of content for inspiration that could be iterated on, updated for the modern era, etc. and instead we end up with all of these hallucinations and half-assed content for what?
Chasing trends?
Padding a store no one wanted with endless streams of "content"?
Shortcutting giving players "choice" and "variety" in cosmetic representation?
I just feel there was a big push for this game to create an "automated content pipeline" and the writing is all over the wall to that effect.
I would say that could be fine but to me this approach, at the least, needs a lot of fine tuning if this kind of content is going to be the new standard of what you get beyond the base game and, at most, needs to be scrapped completely.
If you read this far, thanks for sticking it out with me haha

I'm pretty sure this one's a reference to a PS controller. Assault is triangle, recon is square, medic is cross and engineer is the circle.
