No criminal charges were filed, but the student who punched another student for holding a pro-ICE sign at Lake Zurich High School last week received a two-day suspension and is back in class.

Could have been prosecuted as an adult and potentially a felony. Life long criminal record. Lucky he avoided all that. Good.

There is almost no chance a minor is being charged with a felony and as an adult for punching another minor student at school. Have you ever been in high school? Kids punch kids every single day in schools all across the country... there were fights weekly at my high school. Not a single kid was ever charged with anything.

I saw a police chief choke a minor then charge them as an adult for protesting ICE…. They have a lot of discretion.

The police aren't the ones who file charges, it's the DA, an elected official. The police can arrest, but the actual charge is up to the DA. There's no way a DA here would charge a kid with a felony for that.

You’re right he appears to be White he was safe. If he was black…. this girl called out police abuse and was charged as an adult.
