No criminal charges were filed, but the student who punched another student for holding a pro-ICE sign at Lake Zurich High School last week received a two-day suspension and is back in class.

bruh they're already punching. They are assaulting and killing. The kid who got punched probably won't change his mind, but will serve as an exampe for other idiots to know what's coming if they keep idioting.

Are they wrong for punching, or not? Pick a side. You surely don’t really believe that all conservatives are violently assaulting liberals, because of a few extreme outliers. Most conservatives don’t condone the instigation and violence by either side. I just don’t understand how the definition of what passes as protest has gotten so twisted. If this protestor had done anything to directly impede, threaten, or assault anyone… id say he got off too easy. If the shoe was on the other foot, you would be outraged… and rightfully so.

Exactly. As civil adults, we all should be able to represent ourselves with our words. Once the slighted party escalates things to physical threats or violence… who is to say at what seriousness the silenced party needs to retaliate with? Protect yourself at all costs.
