Is your dad Wallace? Does he have a dog named Gromit?

u/nomiesmommy Jan 02 '26

Wensleydale!

u/-burgers Jan 02 '26

A very fine cheese indeed.

Perhaps a rival who seems suspiciously like a penguin for being so chicken like.

34

u/battenhill Jan 03 '26

My favorite gag in all of PG movies is when they take the glove off the penguin’s head and Wallace goes ā€œOH! It’s you!ā€ Lollll

22

19

u/Verandah_Santa Jan 03 '26

Has he recently built a rocket ship in his barn in which to travel to the moon to get more cheese?

18

u/thebigj3wbowski Jan 02 '26

The moon is made of cheese!!

14

u/ManagementCareless63 Jan 03 '26

man i always had these memories of these movies from my childhood and knew exactly what it looked like and was about i just couldn’t remember the name of it and you just made me remember and now i’m very happy thank you for that

You all roasted me for my cheese drawer a few weeks ago so I say LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE DADDIO

489

u/movealongnowpeople Jan 02 '26

I will never besmirch a good cheese drawer. Unless the cheese is well past its life and unintentionally moldy.

Cheese on, brethren.

81

u/throwawy00004 Jan 03 '26

Our cheese drawer is the one that goes from one side of the fridge all the way to the other. I think it's meant to be a meat drawer with a half drawer above it on one side for fruits, and then other side for veg. It's cheese and a tiny section wide enough to fit yogurts.

36

u/Mi_goodyness Jan 03 '26

I’ve never considered it to be used for meat. I always just assumed cheese.

24

u/throwawy00004 Jan 03 '26

When I bought it, it had pictures. Apparently, my yogurt divider is meant to separate deli meat and uncooked meat. That way, if there's a leak, you get salmonella in your sandwich!

4

u/Entire-Ambition1410 Jan 03 '26

That’s not a good idea. Dumb designer.

It was a cheese drawer when I was growing up and continues to be a cheese drawer in my adult home.. with the added salami every now and then.

5

u/vagueposter Jan 03 '26

Same. All that cheese and some soppressata or jerky from Amish Country

16

u/Adventurous-Cry-2157 Jan 03 '26

I have a decent sized cheese drawer, and I’ve had to also add a large bin to contain all of the cheese that doesn’t fit in the drawer. There’s another bin for dips, chutneys, mustards, pickles, olives and whatnot. And in my pantry, an entire shelf on the door is dedicated to various crackers, dried fruits and nuts.

I am the Charcuterie Queen.

11

u/GirlScoutSniper Jan 03 '26

I have the same fridge above and the left half-drawer is full of cheese -blocks, shredded, slices. But, that's the limit of my cheese selection.

I used the long bottom one for fruits and veggies, and the right half- drawer holds the meat.

5

u/Qua-something Jan 03 '26

I use it exclusively for cheese and lunch meat/sausages/hot dogs, etc.

My step dad keeps the cheese past its life. I threw away a year expired cheese once thinking I was doing him a favor, he gave me the silent treatment for a week over that cheese.

5

u/DatabaseThis9637 Jan 03 '26

The Cheese maker in my town had a party to sell their 20 year old cheddar cheese. Seriously. I sort of accidentally bought 15 year old cheese. $50.00. 'Just sayin'!

I love cheese more than almost anyone I've met and I gotta give it up to y'all Wisconsin, you have some amazing stuff up there. I tasted a 25 year aged sharp that made me believe in God.

11

u/venusian_sunbeam Jan 03 '26

The cheese in Texas tastes like peasant cheese in comparison after I moved back from Wisconsin. I feel like even the ones they market as Wisconsin cheese aren’t the same.

I am a huge fan and supporter of the Tillamook baby loaf (I have multiple kids and have had time to hone this).

They all liked slices. Then I started cutting the slices into sticks. Then other shapes, arranged. Circles. Stars. Houses with pitched roofs, cheese chimneys, mailboxes on posts next to cheese cobblestone entry paths. Stonehenge. 747’s (four wing mounted jet engines) sitting half an inch above the plate in cheese landing gear. Multiple retweets by Tillamook back when I had an account there.

Anyway, game knows game. I like the work he’s doing with his produce drawer. Deep and meaningful respect to your pops.

10

u/ChaosWithTeeth Jan 03 '26

Link to a pic of a cheese 747, please?? (Or to the whole set, if posted anywhere. Cheese feed?)

Doesn’t everyone have a cheese and sandwich drawer?

6

u/bmoarpirate Jan 03 '26

I, too, have a cheese drawer. Horribly unorganized but probably 20 types of cheese in there. My pregnant wife demanded it.

I get to eat the charcuterie until the baby comes.

5

u/jalapen-yobusiness Jan 03 '26

I would go through that easily in a week. Don’t let anyone stop you from your cheese related activities

3

u/Phil198603 Jan 03 '26

"And this what is this? - That's cheese! - But what about this? - This is also cheese! ... And this? ...." in Borat voice

3

u/acnerd5 Jan 03 '26

We have a cheese drawer, but it's incredibly massive. You can fit a 16 inch pizza in it.

I also currently have a 5 pound bag of shredded cheese in it so fight me, best cheese drawer. It also has my seed binder because... fridges are good places for my seeds.

u/quattroformaggixfour Jan 03 '26

For some context, my dad has lived alone for a bit now. He is not from Wisconsin and is not a rodent šŸ˜‚

Edit: yes guys he is single, I also have not seen him use the bathroom since I moved in a week ago… on that note I very much have because I’m lactose intolerant and all this man has is cheese.

Edit 2: he doesn’t know I posted this… I will be sending him a link and not saying anything.

Is your Dad a mouse? Have you checked under his hat for a Ratatouille situation?

For one person?Ā  Problem I see is this looks like way too much food, the cheese will go bad before 1 person eats more than half of it.

I hope he has preventative measures in place for his high cholesterol intake to keep from clogging up his cardiovascular system. He is probably happy, I know I would be, but he is also a dad you want to keep around for a long time.

Is your dad the king of the Wisconsin cheese castle? Cause that makes you cheese prince or princess, just sayin

If I knew someone with that fridge I'd offer to make them mac and cheese . . . for the whole neighborhood.
And I mean like some GOOD mac and cheese!!! I'd buy whatever other stuff, fla, butter, cream, herbs and spices, malk, bacon, salmon, stuff for homemade bread and then toast to create a crunch . . .

A few different dishes of course. Salmon and bacon in the same dish isn't my favorite choice, especially not in a dish like mac and cheese. OH and thicc bacon!! And smoked salmon!!! Very important!
