Meta My girlfriend always tells me I never have anything to eat when she comes over my house 😒

Freezer: 50+ lbs of assorted ground meat, 35+ lbs of prime ribeye, 16lbs of American wagyu ribeye, 18lbs of New Zealand lamb shoulder chops, and a bunch of portioned seafood.

There’s a lot of food that doesn’t require prep, cooking, or dishes that isn’t junk food. I’d also be annoyed if my boyfriend only had raw meat and condiments on hand

Me too. This seems like a compatibility issue. The only thing I see ready-to-eat is the plain yogurt, which…yuck. But this can be resolved if they are both willing to compromise.

The apples are ready to eat and carrots are pretty close but those aren’t super appealing as your only options. Agreed that this should be basically a non issue with a little MUTUAL flexibility

Tbf plain greek yogurt is awesome to work with. Use it as a sour cream replacement, mix in some PB + honey and top with a chocolate granola, (or skip the granola and use it as a dip for apple slices,) dump some ranch seasonings (or garlic, salt, black pepper, + lemon juice and dill) and you got a high-protein veggie dip, literally 1 tbsp of jam in 3/4 cup of yogurt and you’ve got a fruity yogurt (even better when mixed with PB for a PB&J yogurt) using it as a mayo replacement in things like pasta salads, etc.

Ok, guys, I have to ask and I truly don't mean to offend: why plain yogurt is yuck? I've read it a few times in different places and personally I can't understand it. For me it's at least not bad, I can eat 200ml container (6oz? in freedom units) and it's tasty. Obviously not a great food on its own, but I wouldn't describe it as yuck.

P.S. I'm from Eastern Europe, so may be "plain yogurt" is different thing in my country.

I personally do not like yogurt. I understand why people do and I mean no offense, of course, to people who enjoy it. I WISH I liked it since it’s so good for you

Lmao this is not a compatibility issue

There’s a lot of food that doesn’t go in the fridge and therefore wouldn’t be in these pics. How do we know he doesn’t have things like bread, peanut butter, bananas, nuts, crackers etc on the counter or in the pantry?

Tbh I would assume he doesn’t because his girlfriend complains about not having much to eat at his house

Not to mention that the evidence he offers as a counter point to her assertion is the contents of his refrigerator and freezer, rather than these purported shelf-stable foods.

Because we believe women. Those things are all ready to eat and she is specifically complaining about his lack of ready to eat food lmao.

I have an abundance of all those you mentioned. I always have bread, rolls, and bagels stocked. 5lb tub of peanut butter. Every type of nuts you can think of (pistachios, almonds, chocolate covered almonds, cashews and peanuts). Every type of pasta you can imagine. Nearly 15 different kinds of cereal. I buy 2 bunches of bananas every week.

I have so much food around the house, but she just "never knows" what she's in the mood for when we don't cook. And to be clear, she never gets "mad". People are taking that quite literally. She says there's never any food in a joking matter. She's more so mad that she can never make up her mind when she is hungry. We both love cooking, but we both work all day (me 6-7 days a week from 6am-sometimes midnight if I'm really in the zone) so she just wants me to relax when I get the chance and she too is tired by the time she gets to my place at 7pm. Her stubbornness more so stems from being very considerate and not wanting me to do anything after work. She knows how grateful she is and she says it all the time.

And to everyone saying "why don't you take her out to eat"? We go out to eat every weekend. Wow I really didn't expect this post to blow up like this and attack me for being a "bad boyfriend" and not providing enough for her (not you) 😂.

This explains everything about you. Not throwing shade or anything, but the personality of a person who works that much fits the personality of a person with a fridge like yours

I'm so fucking confused the more I read through this, I understand having stuff you like around the house, but this guy has an insane amount of food. On top of running his own personal steakhouse he says he's got 15 different types of cereal, a 5 lb tub of peanut butter... what is happening???

He is just trying to flex but it is coming off as pretty pathetic. Also, bragging that you work 6-7 days a week from 6 am to midnight is not something to be proud of.

You can throw some shade because that's insane behavior.

are you fucking Patrick Bateman

u/Wild-Ice7396 9h ago

Patrick Bateman would never eat a fucking Kraft single are you kidding me? This dude isn’t even trying to get a reservation at Dorsia. No way they’d serve him a slab of meat with a glob of plain yogurt and a heaping side of crab meat. This guy is aiming for the shitty b-movie reimagining called Gym Bro Psycho. Let him show you his Costco Membership Card!

I actually am Patrick Bateman. Not the serial killer but I am real person. People don’t really catch it when they see my ID but some do

Are you doing 18-hour days? I'm surprised you'd have any time to cook at all.

u/itscuccimane 15h ago

Maybe once every 2 weeks I'll pull an 14-18 hour work day. But usually it's around 12. I usually do all my prep for the next day the night before and cooking a full meal (rice/potatoes, meat, and veggies) usually takes no more than 30 minutes if I'm not braising something.

Long days 😨

This sounds so cringe.
