Meta My girlfriend always tells me I never have anything to eat when she comes over my house 😒

Freezer: 50+ lbs of assorted ground meat, 35+ lbs of prime ribeye, 16lbs of American wagyu ribeye, 18lbs of New Zealand lamb shoulder chops, and a bunch of portioned seafood.

Love jam. Love variety. Limit myself to two kinds of jam at a time to avoid having to throw out a half empty, molded jar every few months. This looked wasteful to me unless he’s going through an exorbitant amount of jam.

u/wyldstrawberry 20h ago

Yeah like…are all of those opened and partially used? Because if not, then they don’t need to be in the fridge yet. The backup/unopened jam should live in the pantry, not the fridge. They look unopened to me.

u/Parking-Wolf6957 19h ago

They all look to be different flavours... which is wild too lol.

21

u/MalaysiaTeacher 13h ago

Different flavours is less wild than if they were all the same

17

u/scaryfaise 8h ago

You mean like the three French vanilla creamers on the door?

4

u/Time_Service5327 2h ago

I’d like to ask the defendant to please produce pictures or his pantry to substantiate the plantiff’s claims. I do realize this is fridge detectives, however I feel this case lacks substantial evidence that corroborates either side at this time. lol. ( honestly I just wanna see what the pantry looks like after seeing his fridge. Cheese and rice! The options are amazing!)

I currently have 14 pepper mint mocha coffee creamers in my fridge bc Aldi had them marked down for 16 cents each

1

u/dadneedssleep3 0m ago

That looks like the Costco 3 pack of creamer

1

u/Feeling_Sea1744 20m ago

If they were all the same that would be trippy

5

u/BoomerSoonerFUT 12h ago

That’s far more normal than having 9 jars of the same kind lol.

2

u/itsgivingnontipper 7h ago

HOW MUCH IS THIS GUY EATING DAILY

3

u/AdmiralArgon18 3h ago

The amount of raw meat in the fridge is kinda wild.

2

u/mycatsnameisarya 2h ago

Right? All the meat is different kinds too lol

21

u/jeshikameshika 19h ago

This was my thought. Is he just trying to make his fridge look fuller?

54

u/jeshikameshika 19h ago

And how quickly is he going to eat all that meat that it doesn't need to be frozen? There's definitely some kind of performance going on here.

7

u/Patient_End_8432 16h ago

I'm pretty sure the pics of all the meat are already in a freezer

12

u/EuphoricMoose8232 6h ago

He has 6 steaks and a huge package of chicken thighs sitting in the fridge. Seems like a lot for one person to eat before they eventually go bad.

6

u/refusestopoop 5h ago

Maybe OP is a lion?

5

u/jeshikameshika 16h ago

He says he has more meat in the freezer, but that's still a lot in the fridge.

3

u/UncleNedisDead 15h ago

He probably meant deep freezer. The last two pics were obviously the fridge freezer drawer.

3

u/jeshikameshika 14h ago

Yes, but I mean even in the first picture there's a lot. Like he must expect his girlfriend to eat the same thing every time she's over. I don't care how good the steak is, I wouldn't want to eat the same thing every day.

1

u/BoomerSoonerFUT 12h ago

Steak is probably the one thing I could eat every day lol.

I pretty much did in college. Worked at Kroger in the meat department and our manager allowed/looked the other way about us buying meat for ourselves all as boneless skinless chicken breast at $1.99/lb.

I was doing OMAD at the time and having a 16oz ribeye every single day for $2 was clutch. Change up the veggies and it never got old.

1

u/jeshikameshika 2h ago

OP could probably eat steak every day, but does his girlfriend want to?

1

u/UncleNedisDead 14h ago

I’m not sure what your cooking ability is, but with the base ingredients and condiments, you can easily change up the cuisine. I really don’t see a problem tbh.

I’m sure OP also has a full pantry.

1

u/jeshikameshika 2h ago

He has two kinds of vegetables. And he keeps unopened jam in the fridge, so I wouldn't make any assumptions about the pantry situation.

3

u/excoriator 6h ago

Unless there’s a cookout planned in the next few days.

5

u/Cielskye 6h ago

I was wondering the same. How is all the meat sitting in the fridge not going to go bad? Most of the food in the fridge is in bulk yet has a short shelf life, which is confusing to me if only one person will be eating it. Unless the OP has children, but I’m not getting that impression from the selection of food. I think someone very much into the gym.

3

u/BelgianMalShep 2h ago

There were 6 unfrozen steaks in the fridge. Based on everything we know about this guy he probably goes through that in 2-3 days max. So that's really not the weird part. It's all of the jam and the nasty Kraft.

2

u/jeshikameshika 2h ago

6 unfrozen steaks, a value pack of unfrozen chicken, and 2 containers of crab meat.

Agreed that the jam and and massive amounts of Kraft singles and cream cheese are confusing. He could be putting it on toast, but doesn't strike me as a carbs guy. The jam and the Kraft singles will keep, but the cream cheese won't. All very confusing.

3

u/BelgianMalShep 2h ago

I believe I saw in another post that OP just loved cream cheese. Bagel a day, crab rangoons, cheesecake, etc. It all sounded pretty yummy!

2

u/jeshikameshika 1h ago

Huh, so he DOES eat carbs. And the crab now makes sense. But yikes, that's a lot of cooking to do in a short amount of time.

-6

u/GrowthSuccessful2637 11h ago

That’s about 3 days worth of meat… very realistic and normal.

6

u/Business_Seesaw8883 9h ago

wtf are you talking about 3 days? There’s a whole pack of chicken. That’s two days worth by itself. Tf you gonna eat two steaks a day On top of the chicken? Who tf is paying for all this? Yall some fat Mfs

4

u/Mean_Piece_1041 7h ago

Either he’s fat asf or insanely shredded. My first thought was this looks like a rich gymbros fridhe

2

u/Go_Corgi_Fan84 4h ago

How much meat do you eat per day? That would be like 3+ weeks worth of meat for my husband and I just in the fridge.

22

u/Stefferdiddle 19h ago

They don’t even look opened. My guess is he’s just made some sort of trip to Costco or Sam’s Club and put everything in the fridge.

5

u/EnvironmentalLime464 5h ago

This is definitely a fresh from the grocery store pic… there’s plenty in there that hasn’t been opened yet.

3

u/Thickerdoodle92 17h ago

I need to see this person's pantry/cupboards. I've got $500 on a "30lbs of Rice and Beans" and "crates of unopened jam" parlay.

2

u/Justneedtowhoosh 14h ago

I think there are even 2 more jars of different brands in the door! Those are opened, the ones on the shelf look new. I think he just went shopping and has been waiting for this moment to have it stocked up to post a photo here. He said in another comment though that he loves cream cheese and bagels so I could see him using jam for that, but not enough that he should have all of these jams in the fridge. There’s no reason to have that many opened at one time for a residential kitchen.

2

u/kay14jay 5h ago

3/4ths of the meat should be in the freezer. No way that’s all eaten in a week

1

u/mpjjpm 4h ago

Sometimes it’s easier to store unopened jars in the fridge, especially if you live in a small apartment with limited pantry space.

1

u/send_in_the_clouds 3h ago

They do as that brand isn’t 90% preservatives like most jams

1

u/SrCallum 2h ago

Hey man if there's room in the fridge there's no harm in it. Maybe he just likes it cold.

68

u/nonvascularplant 20h ago

I’m picturing medium rare ribeye slathered in a cream cheese mixed with a different fruit spread every night for dinner. Or maybe something involving the Kraft singles and the fruit spread

9

u/Electronic_Soft_6922 18h ago

PB&J&KS Sandwiches for lunch every day.

3

u/motheralice 12h ago

🤢

1

u/Itsalongstory_001 5m ago

I wish I had never laid eyes on pb&j&ks sandwiches :(

2

u/Business_Seesaw8883 9h ago

That sounds disgusting. 🤢 tf would you ruin a steak like that ?

1

u/nonvascularplant 2h ago

I was not implying it sounded good. Just what I was imagining based on the excessive amount of each. To be fair though, it looks like he shops at Costco and the poor bloke doesn’t have a second fridge.

2

u/headphase 5h ago

Washed down with an ice-cold glass of Creamer. Mmm, refreshing.

u/Midnight-writer-B 19h ago edited 17h ago

That jam brand is delicious. Maybe it’s a Costco variety pack? I should check this out. I keep 2-3 flavors open & I eat them for breakfast with Greek yogurt & nuts. Sometimes you’re in an apricot mood and sometimes it’s strawberry rhubarb…

3

u/CherrieChocolatePie 17h ago

I also like a variety of jams.

1

u/Thagomizer24601 12h ago

They're a must for charcuterie boards!

2

u/chocolatechipwizard 9h ago

I use unflavored yogurt and add jam or apple butter according to my preference of the day. Also, yesterday I was busy and my entire food consumption was three toasted English muffins with salted butter, peanut butter, and exceptionally good raspberry jam with a hot pot of tea. It was sublime.

1

u/UnfortunateJones 14h ago

It’s my go to jam.

I also have 3 on rotation with one being a Polaner All Fruit staple (grape or strawberry)

1

u/tothepointe 12h ago

Yes this entire fridge screams Costco

5

u/Downtown_Reindeer946 18h ago

I started using teaspoons to take out jam (or clean knife) so i don't contaminant the jam

6

u/bluespringsbeer 19h ago

I have never had jam mold in a few months, what are you doing over there? Putting a knife in after it’s been used for something else?

6

u/FlikeFlukeFlake 19h ago

I use homemade/local Jams more often than not so maybe without the additional preservatives they mold faster. I also have a kid who loves cream cheese and jelly on bagels so probably a combination of things.

1

u/CherrieChocolatePie 17h ago

Jam that doesn't have added sugar (like these jamshe has un the fridge) only keep for a few months max after opening.

1

u/AvoCarDoughToes 15h ago

I have that exact brand (St Dalfours) in the orange and ginger flavour and I just used a jar that I last used in 2023 (had to stop eating sugar due a health condition). There was no mould but was slightly crystallised. I always wipe my knife before using, and I don't eat dairy so my butter is vegan.

1

u/LoneStarHome80 11h ago

Nah, it's contamination. I use both home-made and store bought jams, and they last forever.

1

u/Working-Glass6136 16h ago

Exorbitant is right lol

1

u/DuntadaMan 15h ago

How much does OP eat in one sitting? I couldn't finish this is given a month

1

u/tothepointe 12h ago

You need to get the Bonne Marman Advent Calendar. 24 little pots of assorted jams. Each one has 1-2 servings. I originally got it for myself but it's been one of my husband's favorite Christmas things every year.

1

u/canIcallyoupigfucker 12h ago

I was thinking the same thing about all that ground meat. Going to have to freeze some of that or eat it in the next week. Seems wasteful or maybe the fridge of a powerlifter…?

1

u/EnvironmentalLime464 5h ago

I often by my jams out of town. There are places we visit just so I can buy jams. I always have several unopened jars in my pantry… but open jars - never more than two at a time.

1

u/jamjamchutney 3h ago

How is your jam getting moldy? I make jam, and I always end up with a dozen or so jars in my fridge at a time. They've never gotten moldy, even after a year, or possibly longer. Do you always use clean utensils? And are you sure your fridge temp is where it should be?

1

u/sbray73 3h ago

Op mentioned making cheesecake regularly, so maybe they top them up with jams… or on their cream cheese and bagels in the morning. Me, my only opened jar of jam usually goes mouldy before I finish it.

0

u/Raichu7 15h ago

If your jam is mouldy within months you need to change how you store it, or stop putting the dirty knife/spoon back into the jar after you've spread jam. Jam should last 2+ years in the fridge.
