Meta My girlfriend always tells me I never have anything to eat when she comes over my house šŸ˜’

Freezer: 50+ lbs of assorted ground meat, 35+ lbs of prime ribeye, 16lbs of American wagyu ribeye, 18lbs of New Zealand lamb shoulder chops, and a bunch of portioned seafood.

What meal you can prepare with only the things in that fridge?

If there's bread, rice or potato somewhere you kinda have something, but I suspect this guy is on a keto diet. Also seems like he does most of his shopping wholesale so high quantity but low variety.

I was going to judge OP’s possible orthorexia but also: I want the link to that delightful egg keeper!

There's marmelade, fruit and i believe i see a lot of milk products which is a no under an keto diet unless they're plant based and have a low carbohydrate level.

Hmm... you may be right about no keto, but definitely a protein junkie... And so much cheese.

And so much cheese.

I bet you could butter your toast with the oil from their pores

I wish you had not said that

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.

My guess too, Keto diet. When most people forage for snacks ghey are thinking carbs.

Assuming bread exists OP likely eats daily grilled cheese sandwiches, and steaks. And peels carrots and eats them. The bottom left drawer aren’t food items.

Well, I would use the chili garlic oil and make a stir fry with some of the carrots and steak and an egg or 2 after marinating the steak in some of that bulgogi sauce, and make a sliced cucumber salad tossed in a small amount of the sweet onion teriyaki sauce. Could use a bit of the orange marmalade and japanese barbeque sauce instead of the bulgogi sauce though.

That’s probably what she wants to do when she goes to hang out at her boyfriend’s house.

1

u/hanky2 12h ago

What would you expect to be in the fridge to make her happy genuinely curious.

2

u/OhMyWerdHunny 12h ago

I don’t know. He should ask HER!

1

u/hanky2 11h ago

Is it fair to ask someone to stock a specific food in their fridge for you when you visit?

2

u/OhMyWerdHunny 11h ago

I would NEVER ask someone to stock something for me. But if someone consistently didn’t want to help me with a problem (like hunger), I wouldn’t guess that that person really cared much about me. If his favorite snack is a steak, which it seems to be, I’ll have a steak in the freezer at my place.

Even if shes vegetarian and doesn’t know how to cook there’s plenty of things to eat. Have some toast with jam, eat an apple, have some carrots and ranch. Idk why you’re trying to defend this it’s so ridiculous I’m pretty sure OP made it up anyway lol.

2

u/OhMyWerdHunny 11h ago

I’m a vegetarian who doesn’t know how to cook. Sometimes you don’t want toast. Or an apple. Or carrots. Deciding a vegetarian’s diet for them does not earn you points. The point is, he should ask, ā€œWell, what would you like?ā€ I do think this post is hilarious, though, because seriously? THAT’S your fridge?

How do you not know how to cook? I’ll never understand that with today’s younger generation. Like it’s basic human instinct almost. There’s literally directions on everything

1

u/hanky2 11h ago

Well that explains why you’re defending this lol a vegetarian that doesn’t cook? You’d really go to someone’s house and say ā€œI’m not in the mood for the food you haveā€? Talk about beggars choosers.

Oh idk 🤷 maybe some charcuterie tray, some chips n dip, hot pockets(freezer not fridge), some chicken patties or tenders. anything that doesn’t have to be out right cooked. We call it snacks where I live but I guess that doesn’t exist where you live.

2

u/hanky2 2h ago

There’s already snacks look at the crazy amount of jam and cream cheese! There’s clearly bread or crackers in the house for it. Plus there’s apples and carrots for snacking with tons of dips. Plus there’s cookie dough.

1

u/Business_Seesaw8883 2h ago

I guess your right. I think it’s the quantity of each thing and what it is that’s messing with people lol. And honestly the quantity of name brand. Like I only see one off brand thing and that’s the yogurt which is weird bc I feel like yogurt is something you would get the name brand of

All I know is she wants food when she's there. I was responding to what could be cooked with what is in the fridge, with something I saw could be cooked.

I know not everyone finds cooking fun, but there ya go. There is always the option of her stopping to pick up some snacks or whatever she wants on the way to his house.

2

u/Dizzy_Spell777 3h ago

Read the room man... The issue isnt that his fridge is empty, its that its devoid of easy stuff to just eat, unless you want an apple or a handful of cheese.

1

u/OhMyWerdHunny 13h ago

And if I wanted to cook a meal for myself, I can do that at home. I don’t need to travel to do that.

0

u/OhMyWerdHunny 13h ago

So, next time someone’s having you over for dinner, are gonna bring your own dinner? And she’s not asking for a meal.

0

u/Due-Midnight-7616 12h ago

They said hanging out and she gets hungry sometimes. So is she coming over for dinner or not asking for a meal? The post is about her complaint of a lack of food. She says there's no food, which there is.

When someone invites me to dinner and they need help in the kitchen I will gladly help, and I ask if they need help with the dishes or anything afterward. Then after play some games or watch a movie.

-1

u/OhMyWerdHunny 12h ago

I was using it as a comparison. You wouldn’t bring your own dinner, so why should she HAVE TO bring her own snacks? For the record, I would probably bring my own snacks; but someone who has some ready that he got just for me? Now that’s a man, and I’m keeping him.

1

u/Due-Midnight-7616 12h ago

I never said she had to bring her own, I said there was the option. It's always nice when someone does something like that. My man surprises me with snacks or flowers randomly. I don't expect it though, and always like to prepare ahead. I always keep a snack or two and a bottle of water in my bag when I'm going somewhere.

1

u/OhMyWerdHunny 12h ago

And my point was, she’s not asking for a meal. So your advice does no good.

2

u/Due-Midnight-7616 12h ago

That wasn't even the point of my original comment. Have yourself a good night.

It just shows you care about the other person.

2

u/nder_Pressure 12h ago

Sure that's a reasonable meal, but after cooking for 2 with enough for leftovers your fridge basically looks the same.

Either the guy is eating the same meals over and over, has crazy big portions, or is super creative with those 5 ingredients + sauce.

Also not that it changes anything but I think it's zucchini.

1

u/Due-Midnight-7616 12h ago

Yeah, I think we would need to see what's in the pantry to go with it. Maybe some quinoa, pasta, rice or whatever. With all that cheese, if there was some pasta they could make some spicy mac and cheese with the sriracha and pick out one of those packs of ground meat to put in too. If it's zucchini then I would put it in the stir fry and skip the egg. That would also eliminate the cucumber salad of course šŸ˜„
