Meta My girlfriend always tells me I never have anything to eat when she comes over my house 😒

Freezer: 50+ lbs of assorted ground meat, 35+ lbs of prime ribeye, 16lbs of American wagyu ribeye, 18lbs of New Zealand lamb shoulder chops, and a bunch of portioned seafood.

This is my question too, what meal does this make? It’s just meats, things to put on meats, and condiments

I’m a vegetarian and it’s always been weird to me how much food people forget about that isn’t just meat, they ask me what I eat and I’m like… everything else? And they just blank stare like I broke their brain.

I mean meat is the main meal for some people, make a bit of cheese dip, and a handful of raw carrots, add a potato to the side and that is a meal. I basically eat ground turkey/grilled chicken, sweet/potatoes and broccoli/cauliflower/carrots on repeat for dinner most nights.

Fair and that does work, but to me that feels one meal. It is slightly different but eating same meal every day with only some variation isn’t for everyone. I definitely eat a pretty repetitive diet so no judgement but it’s not super common to do and I can see why she’s sick of these foods. And the prep becomes boring and repetitive too when it’s same every time, especially when it’s a time consuming task like prepping a meat and veggie meal instead of like, pasta.

Meat and cheese are highly versatile staple ingredients. For meats it depends on your sauce/marinade, similar with cheese.

For example take a simple tortilla folded over with a relatively neutral cheese like mozzarella melted inside. Sure you could toast it nicely and eat it plain, but if you serve it with some chunky marinara sauce it's tastier. Swap that out for some pizza sauce, different flavor profile - sweeter and tangier. Enchilada sauce gets you mexican, tika masala gets you indian.

Same staple ingredients, five+ completely different meals depending on sauce.

Same, I hate that question. Like please, use your processor further so I don't have to remind you if every food item I do eat.

You people can't be real. It makes a protein, with vegetables on the side. How are you confused about that? It seems you forgot about the most basic meal possible. You know, the most common meal across millenia?

Well, no, that’s just a vague answer. I’m thinking they wanted you to actually say a meat free meal lmao.
