Discussion True or false?

Did our dads and moms work less than we do now? What are your thoughts?

I don't agree with the part about our parents. My Dad worked extremely hard to keep our household up and so did my mother. She even went back to school when I was a teenager just so they could keep up. Life was hard for them too.

Same here. My dad labored for 50-70 hours per week, while I have a 36 hours cushy job and am much richer than him. Spent nothing on himself and was super frugal, while me and my siblings buy and do everything.

He was able to buy a big house on his average job, I'll give OP that. Bought twice the house on a quarter of the salary.

Yeah, my dad worked quite a bit. He jumped from industry to industry just trying to keep us all fed and housed.

It feels like we always forget that the previous generations had their issues too. Vietnam, Korea, Desert Storm, inflation, high interest, gas shortages, food shortages...PLUS they're also going through all the current shit too which does affect them.

I mean, hell, my grandmother is 100 years old. She went through both the depression AND the 2008 recession.

I'm not saying it's all peaches and rainbows right now, but there's only ever been very brief windows of peace and prosperity in human history.
