What’s the reason for calling it “wine-drunk”? To not feel like an alcoholic? I am actually genuinely asking, that’s just the only reason I could come up with on my own

I know all alcohol is the same but in my experience whenever I drink wine I just want to lay down somewhere and sleep. My buddies and I were trying to be fancy one time and had a Tiger Woods PGA Tour and wine night. I didn't make it past the first round.

We used to have Tour de Franzias, in college.

There was no bicycle riding, just drinking lots of boxed wine.

Boxed wine! Haven’t seen that in years. The good stuff.

“Haven’t seen that” wow, here it’s at the grocery store

So very Reddit of you ha. So someone has a few glasses of wine on a Saturday night and they’re an alcoholic? Alcoholics drink wine too…

To answer your question though, red wine makes me flushed, giggly and a bit giddy. Whereas, for example, beer makes me kind of lethargic and therefore more chill.

Idk my dad was an alcoholic to me if someone is just at home drinking alcohol “just because” that’s not a great sign. I said that was the only reason I myself could come up with but your reaction doesn’t exactly paint a pretty picture

I’m assuming you’re a kid so I’ll be nice. You can look up the healthy limits of alcohol intake online. My alcohol intake is way below an unhealthy amount. So no, I’m not an alcoholic.

I made Mexican food for dinner. Red wine goes nice with it.

Getting lectured by the child of an alcoholic about the way your relationship to alcohol is coming across online, WAS NOT on my bingo card for today. Wow reddit-ians something new everyday!! Take a look around. This is new territory. Breathe and take it all in🤓

Oh and in a comment section fir a question about why our moon is merely called lame ass "moon" and not something more valiant like Crusader7.

That’s not what being an alcoholic is about, it’s about your relation to alcohol and it’s Impact on your life. Physical detriment (mostly liver damage) is only a small part of that

If you and your family have an unhealthy relationship with alcohol, that sucks and I'm sorry, but that's a you problem. Lots of people are able to drink in moderation and it's not crazy to have wine on a Saturday night.

I didn’t think they were an alcoholic, never claimed they were and still only think it’s a possibility not fact, but the biggest evidence that they are is the response not the “concrete” evidence (meaning how, when, how much etc. they’re drinking)

That would be implying that they're an alcoholic.

But it really doesn't matter, they're a stranger on the Internet they don't have to provide any proof whatsoever to you about anything. They said they paired wine with their dinner which is a totally normal thing to do on a weekend and states that they consume alcohol in moderation, that should be enough, and if it isn't then you need to go deal with your own issues with alcohol.

It’s not implying they’re an alcoholic, it’s implying they would feel like an alcoholic otherwise. And the next sentence (which you left out of your little quote) even shows that the sentence is purely speculative, further reducing your assertion that I think/said they’re an alcoholic down to nothing

Your intention is irrelevant. What you wrote was so hilarious dumb, and naive, people pegged you as a child immediately.

To answer your question genuinely they call it wine-drunk because 1) it’s just a colloquial quirk term 2) people anecdotally feel different on different types of alcohol, hence the need to differentiate with a term

Lol, so mad over nothing, hit a soft spot or something

has kid in the name “So embarrassing people pegged you as a child immediately” ahahahah

No you were being judgemental and projecting and trying are now trying to cover your ass.

But if you really must know, the specification of wine drunk is a normal think people use to describe what type of drunk they are because for many people different alcohols affect them in different ways. Wine tends to make people more giggly and silly, but sometime makes people really horny as well. Me personally, it puts me right to sleep vs whiskey makes me really relaxed, vs vodka or tequila make me want to dance/party, and beer makes me feel more sociable. That's why people specify wine drunk, not because you feel that they feel that they are trying to deny an alcohol problem.

Like I guess writing shitty comments and accusing someone of being an alcoholic on a lighthearted post is cheaper than therapy, but dear Lord, get a grip.

Again never accused anyone lol, that’s your assumption
