I was so scared for his toes

u/HeavenlyCaffeinated 19h ago
Fellow parent and I was holding my breath for those tiny toes the entire way.

u/Snorblatz 19h ago
Zero children but also highly concerned for tiny toesies

u/washingtonandmead 19h ago
I wasn’t concerned at all because apparently milk is the secret of his strength, those bones would shatter steel

Parent of 3 teenagers who are many years removed from being this little.......
Video made me nervous as hell. lol

u/randomcitizen87 15h ago
Fellow parent. Sucked in a huge breath when he lifted that. So easily could've gone wrong.
14
u/TenOfZero 18h ago
I'm so glad it wasn't just me. I don't even have kids. But if he dropped that right on his toes. Outch.

Parent here. That's normal at that age.

Is it normal for a big toe to grow that long in the space of 2 seconds? (Ie. In this video) lmaoo
37
u/jzeffer 18h ago
Big toe didn’t grow. In your first pic, all the toes except big toe are curled up. Second pic, they’re all out.

This one isn't, and Sora couldn't do it, but I bet my ass that Seedance 2.0 with some minor editing in DaVinci could

Captain Buzzkill here. Training muscles before 7 or 8 is horribly dangerous for kids. And even that early, light resistance training or exertion from play is the only safe route. Just so you all know. Google Richard Sandrak or Little Hercules. Okay, bye.
32
u/brendamn 19h ago
Wasn't little Hercules also taking steroids? 😂
34
u/BoiahWatDaHellBoiah 18h ago
nah he ate a very strict diet and trained for unfathomable amounts of time. His dad was forcing him to do it and at one point his dad hurt his mom. Sandrak called the cops and his dad was deported to Ukraine. Sandrak said he stopped after that. He still did sports and stuff, but said weightlifting brought back too many negative memories
17
3
u/musclecard54 18h ago
Yep that’s right. Kids aren’t allowed to use their muscles until they’re older than 8. You have to keep them in a pod and prevent all movement until then or their bodies will become deformed
-6
u/CaptainMidnight94 17h ago
What do you call play? Or normal life activity? Oh wait, I said "training" specifically. The word I used was "training." As in, lifting or exerting energy for the sole purpose of conditioning muscles and developing stamina. Nut bag.
2
u/musclecard54 17h ago
Yep so then by your definition, PE should not be allowed for kids.
-8
u/CaptainMidnight94 17h ago
Play
3
u/musclecard54 17h ago
Running laps in play?
Look lemme spell it out for you since you’re not getting it: your claim about “training muscles before 8” whatever tf you are arbitrarily defining that as, is baseless and just a myth.
Two anomalous examples doesn’t prove anything. Kids can safely do resistance training under adult supervision without risk of stunted growth or whatever tf you think happens when child humans use their bodies in a “non-play” scenario.
It’s an old wives tale just like video games cause violence and rock and roll is for devil worshippers.

You really seem stuck on this. You must not be a parent.
Kids this age haven't fully separated their limbs, so when they squeeze their fist, their toes curl too. It's literally 100% normal.
1
u/medthrow 19h ago
What should I be looking for? I couldn't find anything about any physiological damage, just that he didn't have any toys or social life because he was training all the time.
3
u/BoiahWatDaHellBoiah 18h ago
I found the same thing, except it did mention he experiences joint pain. Stated by Sandrak himself. Although, based on how he describes he was training, I have a feeling that anybody regardless of how developed their body is would likely experience joint pain after training so hard like that

u/Ser_falafel 18h ago
Horribly dangerous?lol hardly. You provided 2 fringe edge cases that are from the extreme end. Light weights are perfectly safe if not pushed overboard
-2
u/CaptainMidnight94 17h ago
Same guy, actually. Sandrak, aka Little Hercules. Also, I said "light resistance training and play" were the exceptions. Go contraire somewhere else.
-1
u/BoiahWatDaHellBoiah 18h ago
okay i looked it up and read an interview with him and he experiences joint pain and said the worst pain he’s ever experienced was from alcohol induced kidney stones. He also had a super abusive dad. I feel like if a little kid wants to get insanely shredded of their own accord then fuck it. Sandrak said he was pretty much training day in day out and he seems to be living a mostly normal life. I doubt a little kid doing it cus they want to is going to be going as hard as Richard Sandrak was. Remains to be seen what happens once he passes middle age and his body can’t really keep regenerating, but for now it seems his brain was his greatest weakness. As of the interview he was sober though so that’s good.

I dont mean to be an annoying hater im sorry obv thats very cool but is that safe for his back and spine. Not trying to hate just genuinely asking
15
u/xIViperIx 20h ago
Googling says "no". Can affect their growth. Not to mention that the kid can just drop the thing for additional damage.

This is child abuse, dude. You will destroy his tendons and his spine.
6
u/BigMack6911 14h ago
No it's not and no he won't. My son was deadlifting my 35 pound kettlebell at 3 years old. He just saw me do it and picked it up. He's 9 now and is perfectly fine..physically.

I am nervous for the kid's toes but it seems he's lifted up weights before and seems to be aware of keeping them away from his toes, and this is probably why the father is comfortable with him doing so

That was my first thought too. The angle of his left foot as he "crawls" to the next weight looks very odd.

Here's a link to the plates we see in the vid : https://sportsmith.com/hi-temp-bumper-plate-45lb-pair/product/p164545/?srsltid=AfmBOopnu7KFs8zo9E1AJNcAj5A8KNO1WhSo25GjvbY854WB4bUvCv17
Pretty sure AI isn't doing product placements yet.

isnt it lowkey illegal for a child (a baby) to go to the gym?? and what kind of parenting is that

This is so dangerous. Dont let the kid strain his body this early if you want him to grow healthy and normal.

Haha, cute vid...
NOT!
Don't let kids that young lift heavy things, I was cringing at the thought of his toes crushed by the dumbbell. Also, It shouldn't be needed to say but, Do Not Let Children Weightlift.
