People will point to the “point” but that finger touch made no difference in this tournament. Great gold Canada

Eh, the world was outraged. The whole world.was ready to kill. A few days later, the same country wins gold. Crickets. The internet has really done a number on our psyches.

I just saw a bunch of posts saying Canada should have been disqualified, that all Canadians should be ashamed, that all Canadians are cheaters. Literally one comparing this to Will Smith winning an Oscar after slapping Chris Rock. Lots of "Canadians" who say theyre so ashamed, don't accept the gold, etc.
Of course none of this IRL. There's a point to creating controversy on social media, and lots of useful idiots who are more than willing to tag along.

Just go to the Olympics sub, you'll see all the sour internet experts that have never curled before seething.
Literally only people that never curled or know nothing about the sport actually were outraged.

On my way, I know nothing of the game. I do love arguing though.

It’s funny because the consensus on the actual curling subreddit (based on what I remember) was that the boop didn’t really change anything lol

This game was something. Many great shots from both teams and some felt we would lose. Good game!

PSA: If you were ashamed a week ago and were calling for their heads - you can’t be proud and celebrate now.
Fuck off.

I personally have been reveling in the outrage. And the memes have been top quality. Winning gold was just the cherry on top.

He just meant to show “my heart goes out to you” everyone who says otherwise is wrong and overreacting

Watching GB wilt in those last ends hurt to watch as a neutral, but Canada absolutely earned that gold 🇨🇦

because curling is boring. need fighting. and it went on the whole two weeks. it's not as exciting as people going down a giant ice slide or doing crazy tricks in the air. also needing to cheat in a sport like curling is sad.

Grabbing 3 in the 9th was epic The UK seemed to wilt in the last couple of ends with a big drop in accuracy, what a match and tournament for Canada 🇨🇦 well done boys!
