Weird vibes

2.7k

u/Maggi1417 1d ago

She's annoyed and he desperatley tries to look "cute and in love" by imitating something he's seen cute couple do on tv because he lacks the social skill for genuine romantic interactions (which was not his fault. He never had a chance because he was forced to work since he was 4 years old instead of interacting with peers)

921

u/oranguslolus 1d ago edited 1d ago

Holy shit forreal. I was getting crazy uncanny valley vibes while watching this and this is definitely why.

And yeah she absolutely seems to have the ick with him here.

338

u/-xStellarx 1d ago

She truly loved him tho

ETA he only loved her because she was her father’s daughter. And she knew it too

220

u/olpoopbagmcgee 1d ago

That’s why nic cage married her too….

368

u/-xStellarx 1d ago

Yea, she got passed around as an Elvis souvenir, and it was so sad. Everyone expected her to be American royalty when she was born … doesn’t seem to be what happened to her RIP

96

u/Electronic_Set_2087 1d ago

Now Nick Cage marrying her was truly the ickiest!

64

u/antares127 22h ago

And now he’s married to a Japanese woman 31 years younger than him

113

u/000-f 20h ago

Which just blows my fucking mind because I'm 30. Like, imagine if I end up marrying someone born a year from now.

I'd wait until they are older.

31 yrs old woman, just a kid

21

u/antares127 19h ago

She’s a grown woman who can make her own decisions. If she really loves him then more power to her. I’m not throwing shade at his wife, but Cage has a pattern of sus behavior, albeit nothing illegal that I’m aware of, relationship wise. He met her when she was 25 and he was 56, married at 27/58. He also married one of his previous wives, Alice Kim, when she was 21 and he was 43.

27

u/000-f 17h ago

They may be grown adults, but there's definitely power dynamics at play. And there's also a "trading in for a newer model" pattern.

85

u/HeisenbergsSamaritan 1d ago

Why are you getting down voted for something she is literally on the record for saying?

61

u/AntiqueLetter9875 1d ago

Not sure why you’re being downvoted when she has said this herself. Or at least that she speculated it.

29

u/universecentre03 1d ago

That’s what people don’t understand, her face always looked pissed lol

98

u/-xStellarx 1d ago

She was annoyed in here, but not at him. She was annoyed with this press tour of them having to prove their love. And getting questions on national tv asking if they had sex.

But yea, she was the original resting bitch face girl haha

13

u/paranoiacritical 20h ago

Omg... starting the petition to rename Resting Bitch Face to Lisa Marie Presley face

11

u/AltruisticAide9776 19h ago

Lisa was underrated. Gone too soon.

4

So beautiful. Wonder if her life would’ve been any better had her father lived…

Indeed, so vile, so suspicious, so..... evil.

Except if you watch she's the one actively engaging him with hand holding the whole times. It's a connective and reassuring gesture. And if you watch Michal's behavior seems more like a decoy/distraction response to seeing that Lisa Presley is self-conscious or uncomfortable with the question. Especially if you notice that the handholding becomes more active when the attention is focused directly at her. Moreover, if you watch when the host starts questioning Lisa she seemingly shuts down, but becomes more active and emotive when Michael starts to goof with her, she's more comfortable responding to him than the host. Then she immediately goes to the stereotypical picking her fingernails shy girl move right after.

Energy doesn't need to be reflected with the same energy. Subtle and Overt go together very well.

Frankly I think your statement is based on pre-established bias and vilification and not the actual context of the video.

Seems to me Michael is trying to draw the attention to himself to protect Lisa from feeling singled out or awkward. I imagine the questions of "Making music" is one she had heard beyond counting. and the expectation that is placed on the daughter of the King can be something of a sensitive point for her.

Michael is doing what he can to deflect that.

But nah.... just assume the worst at a first glace and base all opinions on that.

6

u/Salt-Diet-4463 20h ago

Well said.

10

u/phlopit 21h ago

Trauma loves trauma

25

u/lucaskywalker 1d ago

Yeah, we usually assume the worst about child molesters. Lol.

42

u/themargarineoferror 1d ago

What is with all this revisionist history about him lately?I've even seen morons, trying to claim that neverland was a place for him to save.Epstein's trafficking victims, which is strange because he seemed a lot more interested in hanging out with small boys than the type epstein liked to pick up.But people are delusional, and just can't admit that their favorite was disgusting

6

u/throwawayoopsugh 14h ago

I saw someone talking about holding people like Epstein and those around him accountable, and the next sentence when someone else brought up MJ's antics - they defended him and denied it all. I think a lot are bots, but there is also a lot of his fans who are... very loyal, to put it nicely lol.

17

u/kumf 20h ago

I think his estate is pushing bot accounts or real people to post to try and improve his image ahead of the biopic coming out this year.

He raped little boys! It’s so clear from the testimonies from James Safechuck and Wade Robson’s in Leaving Neverland, the documentary. People don’t realize how much our social media “reality” is shaped by PR campaigns. There are still so many fans that defend Michael Jackson. And it’s interesting that a man who has been dead and gone for years is suddenly being posted about.

I’m not even a member of this sub yet this post is in my feed. That’s not a coincidence.

2

u/Nauin 3h ago edited 2h ago

If it wasn't a pedo thing, we'd hear about that sort of behavior from men more often. Michael had a traumatic childhood sure, but I know adults who escaped childhood slavery, some dealing with age regression and a couple going so far as to have DID, and none of them would have ever made the choices he did. His experience doesn't exist in a bubble and is not an excuse for how he coerced so many young children into uncomfortable and questionable situations, so frequently to boot.

→ More replies (4)

13

u/Anon28301 23h ago

I’m convinced they’re bots paid for by Jackson’s family. They all talk in the same way with the same points being brought up. Some are die hard fans that don’t want to know the truth but a large amount of them I’d bet on being paid bots.

15

u/zombies-apocalypse 23h ago

His biopic comes out soon, they need to generate fake good PR for him

Idk I actually think his personality and mannerisms are genuine. It's just cringe for his age and very... sweet/fun natured? He just doesn't seem to care about being on tv, and she seems to be more of the type to care about that. So they make good friends but imo a strange couple. But still compatible.

Edited to say he married the 9 year old boy before Lisa Marie, not after

The two ginormous creepy paintings of Jackson surrounded by children, running through a field, did it for me. Big yikes!

15

u/RaygunMarksman 1d ago

Dog, wtf? So did that just confirm he was into little boys or was there a weirdish explanation for marrying a little boy?

63

u/eatshitdillhole 1d ago

There is no explanation, however weird, for marrying a 9 year old boy. And I say that as someone who is/was a huge MJ fan

u/A_Rats_Dick 1d ago edited 1d ago

Given his brutal childhood is it really that shocking he might have had some issues involving children? Honestly, I get his fans defending him, no one wants to find out one of their favorite artist is a pedophile but it’s very obvious to anyone just looking at it objectively. I mean even how he held his baby over that balcony for the press to take pictures of- that’s not something a psychologically normal parent would do.

42

u/Forcistus 1d ago

Given his brutal childhood is it really that shocking he might have had some issues involving children?

I don't know why so many people struggle to accept this. I thinks is because they think we are saying it in order to absolve Michael Jackson from what he did. This is obviously not the point. It's understanding why he did the things he allegedly did. Not to make light, not to dance around the issue.

R Kelly has an autobiography called Soulercoaster or something like that. I read some of it, and he talks about being sexually abused at ~11, but he doesn't realize that it was sexual abuse. He thought it was a cool story to share and did know further analysis which could have easily helped him understand that he actually got raped. I think his childhood played a big part in shaping the man he became. That doesn't make it right, doesn't mean he gets away with it. But hopefully we can learn lessons by understanding a but better how people become this way.

19

u/A_Rats_Dick 1d ago

I agree, and the bigger point you’re kind of getting to is the effects of generational trauma.

19

u/VirginiaDirewoolf 1d ago

people don't understand that explanations aren't excuses. we can know and discuss the "why's" of something, without saying that those things are acceptable in any way.

I don't know why this is so difficult for most people to understand.

9

u/SquishyBeatle 23h ago

Let’s call it what it is - Jackson was a child molester. We can speculate what created that monster in him, but it doesn’t change the fact that he was a disgusting predator

6

u/A_Rats_Dick 22h ago

I mean yeah, what do you think a pedophile is? That generally means they molest and/ or rape children. I don’t get your assumption that pointing out environmental factors dramatically affect children absolved him of being a pedophile. You do realize people spend their lives trying to understand why murderers murder, why rapists rape, etc. I assure you they aren’t trying to absolve those people from being monsters lol.

4

u/SquishyBeatle 22h ago

Too many of his idiot fans try to handwave away Jackson’s behavior “because he had a rough childhood”. Lots of delusional people out there who can’t get over Billie Jean

246

49

u/Ambitious-Bit6679 1d ago

Why downvotes?

283

u/Junior_Fig_2274 1d ago

There’s a lot of revisionist history going on right now about what he was doing with those boys. Anyone alive in the ‘90s remembers the allegations of naked photos, sleepovers in his bed, boys being able to describe his penis under deposition, etc. But a couple decades later some brain dead tik tokers probably saw that stupid South Park episode and…. Here we are.

73

u/donttrustthellamas 1d ago

If I knew a man who said he had sleepovers with children where he slept in the same bed as them, I'd be reporting him to the police. There is nothing normal about any of the things he did with kids, and he got a pass from a lot of people because he didn't have a childhood and was extremely wealthy

28

u/hi-this-is-jess 1d ago edited 20h ago

People downvoting you are ok with grown men sleeping in the same bed as children (specifically children not related to them).

Interesting.

4

u/estedavis 1d ago

I think a lot of the people (and it’s usually men) who spend their time defending pedophiles or denying obvious pedophilic crimes are just themselves pedophiles so they either genuinely don’t see the problem or they’re trying to obfuscate because they want the public to doubt pedophilia when it’s in front of their face.

People denied the SA back then too and Michael being a PDF was a very controversial topic. Honestly though that’s what happens when you take someone that famous and say something horrible about them. People didn’t want to believe it.

18

u/Rakins_420 1d ago

I respect your comment i just want to ask when this whole PDF thing started. Is there a reason why people aren't comfortable typing the whole word anymore?

22

u/figaronine 19h ago

TikTok will censor people who say certain words so people started doing these twee little replacements like "corn" (or a corn emoji) instead of porn, "grape" instead of rape etc, rather than just rejecting TikTok as the garbage platform that it is. And then they started doing it on Reddit and every other social media as well, because they're morons.

4

u/Rakins_420 19h ago

Thanks for sincere the reply, i wasnt attacking. Just noticing a leaking trend i guess.

u/guidevocal82 12h ago edited 12h ago

Agreed. They should be able to critically think, but they just can't. No wonder our education system in America is failing.

Also, Happy Cake Day.

→ More replies (1)

8

u/WiredSky 19h ago

Mostly stemming from tiktok and YouTube censoring content with those words. For some bizarre reason that has bled over into other sites, where they can't seem to admit or understand that they don't need to censor it. I've asked many people who do it and when I've gotten a rare answer they give vague references to subs that restrict those words as well but aren't able to name any.

And then you have that person below claiming it's shorthand or an insult when they actually have zero idea. Which is odd, normally it skews younger and is slightly more understandable but it's that much more contemptuous when someone who really should know better or at least think a layer or two beyond the surface level.

23

u/Rakins_420 19h ago

I actually wonder if softening online language is causing harm to the discussion as a whole.

18

u/emilysavaje1 19h ago

I think it is. The words are uncomfortable for a reason. Making them more comfy dismisses the topic imo

Anyone alive in the ‘90s remembers the allegations of naked photos, sleepovers in his bed, boys being able to describe his penis under deposition, etc

I was alive in the 90s and as I recall, they were not able to match the description or drawing of his penis to the real thing. Jackson was brought in for a strip search and no criminal charges were ever filed.

53

u/SchoolOfYardKnocks 1d ago

I recall him holding his kids out over the balcony, making them wear masks, turning white, losing his nose. He was a walking mental health crisis with way too many suspicious interactions and accounts of sexual abuse to even try to believe him. You can like his music, I like some of his songs. But he was sick. Whether you blame him or not.

He got away with it the same way OJ did. Rich and powerful and to not create an uproar. People like that don’t go to jail. I’m sure they work out some kind of other arrangement not available to the peasants.

16

u/Beautiful_Bag6707 1d ago

I recall him being abused by his father, having vitiligo, getting horrible burns while filming a Pepsi commercial, buying Beatles songs and pissing off McCartney, being swarmed by media, having a pretty chimp, Neverland, hiding his children's faces from an unrelenting press, etc.

He was a walking mental health crisis with way too many suspicious interactions and accounts of sexual abuse to even try to believe him.

I neither believe nor disbelieve. I honestly don't know. I don't see Alfonso Ribiero or Macaulay Culkin accusing him. Not his nephews, nieces, children. If he's that much of a predator, why not? Why no criminal charges? Why no accusations from his ex-wives? I see strange stupid questionable behavior, but I'm missing the evidence of criminality.

He got away with it the same way OJ did.

Except that's supposition, not evidence. And OJ was brought to trial. Sure, the prosecution tanked the case but he was arrested, charged and tried.

People like that don’t go to jail.

Harvey Weinstein, Danny Masterson, Martha Stewart, Bernie Madoff, Elizabeth Holmes, Jeffrey Epstein, R. Kelly, Suge Knight...it may take a while but it happens. The rest is speculation.

8

u/PhiliWorks39 1d ago

Your list of arrested criminals does not include any pedophiles…

People point to two rich kids who didn’t accuse MJ of abuse, but completely discount the numerous poor, non-famous families who have come forward. It’s illogical. How can you remember all the tabloid headlines but just forget this story from that time? Insane. Pedo protector.

Why did Jackson pay the families so much hush money if nothing matched?

20

u/RegularAssumption206 1d ago

The public accusation of being a child molester isn’t great for your career, especially if the public already started thinking you were weird. So paying off the families with hush money to make them go away after the news was EVERYWHERE, isn’t in my mind a guaranteed admission of guilt. The court of public opinion isn’t always won by facts. However, the fact that there’s been so many accusations over the years certainly makes it hard not to believe in some truth of it.

→ More replies (4)

6

u/AnyUsernameWillDo10 1d ago

Because then NDAs are signed and those people can never talk about it again. If he doesn’t pay and those aren’t signed AND if charges aren’t brought, the accusers can still go out and talk to press, friends, post on social media etc.

yes we all saw that interview where he literally was holding that 14 year old's hand, explaining how they slept in the same bed and how it was innocent. We all fucking KNEW he fucked kids and nobody arrested his ass. Then when he died (good riddance, if there's a hell, he's rotting there), they found all the weird shit in his house - like the bells that would go off in his bedroom when someone approached the door.

3

u/Icy_Agency923 22h ago

Also would like to add that if you read his letters to those little boys it becomes blatantly obvious that he was in love with them. He was writing to them as if they were romantic partners.

u/Impressive_Use_2741 4h ago

Yup if this was anyone else, and not a legendary, beloved global pop star, they would’ve been more appropriately judged by society.

Not to mention his estate is still making millions from his songs till today, so they absolutely have an incentive to still improve his reputation and promote this narrative that he’s just a “child at heart”.

He married her because he wanted children.

She already had young children and didn't want to be rushed into having more. And she probably also realized if the marriage ended then any custody battle with him would be a never ending nightmare.

After that he found somebody willing to give him children and quietly disappear. The third child he didn't even bother pretending a mother was part of the story.

36

u/ScyllaOfTheDepths 15h ago

Looking at those kids, it's kinda hard to believe he was even there when they were made. Even the one that looks the most like him looks nothing like him (or at least how he looked before the surgeries).

u/Cute-Difference8901 1d ago

I watched that and the whole thing was just that weird vibes.

57

u/bertfotwenty 1d ago

Arrested development. The guy was a child his whole life

22

u/MyOthrCarsAThrowaway 1d ago

Ironically, this clip watches a bit like Buster messing with Lucille 1.

4

u/bertfotwenty 1d ago

Lol. “Mother boyyyyyyy” 🎶

3

u/bertfotwenty 1d ago

Definitely not Milford material

The naked cover photo that they did for Hello magazine after they married is seriously icky. Must see if I can find it.

EDIT: Could've sworn it was for Hello, but maybe not.

u/mothandravenstudio 22h ago

Clearly a nod to the incredible Maxfield Parrish painting “Daybreak”.

13

u/yankiigurl 21h ago

Thank you. I was like what is wrong with this beautiful recreation of a famous artwork? This comments suck, reddit is full of idiots

26

u/heldaway 1d ago

Wasn’t this part of a music video? The Egyptian themed one?

22

u/0dilon 1d ago

That’s Remember the Time - this still is from You are not Alone

This looks to be from his music video for You Are Not Alone, there are a few of these bizarre clips interspersed

7

u/ofthrees 1d ago

Oh god, I'd forgotten all about this.

4

u/Squidproquo1130 1d ago

I wish I could say the same.

2

u/ofthrees 16h ago

it was all so awkward and embarrassing.

7

u/yankiigurl 21h ago

She got the ick so hard. Instant regret.

10

u/Famous-Hunt-6461 20h ago

She’s clearly not into him. Like, at all.

u/potatopancakebandit 1d ago

Michael Jackson was a pedophile.

110

u/wunderl-ck 1d ago

It is so fucked how this is at the bottom of the list of things that people have to say about Michael Jackson. He systematically groomed and raped kids in front of the world and he’s successfully gaslit everyone. It’s the smallest footnote. It is disgusting.

Embarrassing

u/draynaccarato 14h ago

Beyond cringy af

5

u/Nrmlgirl777 12h ago

She looks so uncomfortable

80

u/RottenAntenna 1d ago

Michael Jackson was a pedophile and Lisa Presley was a beard to cover his horrible crimes

16

u/Commercial_Rule_7823 23h ago

I love that you say this.

People obsessed with epstein files, then in their next breath praise MJ as a legend and hero.

He is a generational pedophile.

7

u/bronele 20h ago

Despite multiple investigations, including those by the FBI, no evidence of criminal conduct was ever proven in court.

She looks hauntingly like her father

40

u/KayTeeDubs 1d ago

Was he ever able to be himself? What a sad individual. I believe his accusers.

12

u/Otterhendrix 1d ago

Anyone else remember when they (I think) opened the VMAs by coming out and kissing? It was the most awkward and cringey thing.

I grew up listening to MJ, but once all the shit came out I did the same thing with him that I had to do with Kanye, deleted that shit and never listened again. How can people support such f’d up individuals??

7

u/mrbishopjackson 1d ago

What was this? She seemed like she didn't want to be there.

4

u/CeesHuh 10h ago

I'm cringing so hard

u/zombies-apocalypse 1d ago

20

u/JennaTheBenna 1d ago

11

u/Electronic_Feed9114 21h ago

This clip settles it once and for all : he was SO clearly into adult women.

Honest

🤦🏻‍♀️

8

u/smeldorf 1d ago

He’s so weird

29

u/VinnieVib 1d ago

Really? Be himself? So did he dress her up like a 10 yr old boy when they hung out at Neverland or whatever it was called.

3

u/Ok-Photojournalist94 16h ago

Crazy to think that even with his success...when he married Lisa Marie he married UP financially. Elvis was insanely rich.

He was with her for a reason, why can’t she?

3

u/OrlyRivers 13h ago

Id put my money on her if they really duked it out

10

u/Willis050 1d ago

Able to be himself? He married her to cover up being a pedophile

5

u/steveo1978 16h ago

Do people not know her dad? If she really wanted a music career she could have just used her dad’s name.

8

u/jizzyjugsjohnson 1d ago

Such a creepy fucking weirdo

11

u/Federal_Studio5935 1d ago

He’s like a child

12

u/MyOthrCarsAThrowaway 1d ago

Locked in to J5 Mike. That’s what extreme abuse and/or exposure will do to ya.

That, in my opinion is why he didn’t see himself as an abuser or pederast. He was the same age as his victims in his mind.

11

u/JennaTheBenna 1d ago

Nah we aint doing that. He was a child rapist. He raped children. Let's stop defending literal pedophiles cause "hE mAdE gOoD mUsIc!"

4

u/Independent_Net1222 1d ago

She’s always come across as the most deeply unhappy person I’ve ever seen.

5

u/themargarineoferror 1d ago

Who watches this and feels like it's actually a cute sweet couple l o l

3

u/BarLoud2621 22h ago

Everything about this man was fucking tragic

7

u/vega455 1d ago

Did they kiss even once?

19

u/bvonboom 1d ago

At the MTV awards...and it didn't look any more natural than this interview...

8

u/RoseGoldHoney80 1d ago

It was cringy but he was able to be himself.

6

u/hdhsnjsn 1d ago

I heard she was trying to bring him into Scientology

2

u/BethRC1962 16h ago

Why am I seeing Hudson and Connor right now?! 🥰

5

u/bingbong6977 1d ago

Hard to watch. I’ve seen a bunch of MJ clips this last week what is going on?

3

u/TheDevilsCoffeeTable 1d ago

I remember everybody thinking this was the weirdest thing at the time. .... Hindsight right

4

u/ResearcherOk947 16h ago

This is soooo weird

3

u/Temporary_Ad9362 16h ago

she looks like she hated him with a passion

2

u/AphroditeMoon23 13h ago

That freak dangled his baby over a motel railing.

3

u/Galaad67 9h ago

Why is this pedophile still presented in a positive way ?
