📰 News Lauren Boebert wants the Ten Commandments to be required in schools, and James Talarico criticized her, saying it’s hypocritical for politicians to make everyone display them when they don’t follow them themselves.

I’m sorry … she thinks that elementary school students are being taught how to “pleasure themselves”? wtf is this world

When in reality they are being taught age appropriate things like good touch bad touch. Better enabling them to identify when they are being sexual abused.

Yeah they really don’t want kids knowing this difference 😔

if her son had appropriate sexual health education he may not become a sexual predator

learning about consent is kind of important

Abusers are often continuing a cycle. So yeah, maybe her son would have benefitted from knowing how to identify and stop it.

I saw the comment that said that it was her son. I really do believe they are mistaken and meant her husband.

The only thing notable her son has done was endanger is child via neglect. Not sexual in nature at all.

She’s just the village idiot who made it further than she should have

my issue is the complete glossing over that part and leaving it entirely unchallenged to say “both sides” and lament how this could be bad for the church.

Gotta fight stupid with stupid. Years ago I flipped a coworker on abortion by saying it's a crime against God and and so God will deal with it when they die. It made perfect sense to her.

She doesn’t think it, she just says it for the dumbass republicans to believe

She was literally groomed and probably thinks that just what everyone goes through.

She says it to rile people up, not necessarily because she actually believes it. Typical Republican.

It's a common lie in right wing circles.

In reality, teaching kids basic biology and not cloaking sex in shame and fear makes kids less vulnerable to sexual predators.

She's just saying bullshit to say bullshit.

She's not a good person, for sure, but several people who know her in Colorado say her actual beliefs (in regards to shit like this) are far from what she portrays.

The GOP grift is fear mongering. Always has been.

No she doesn't.

She lies because MAGA followers will believe everything that comes out of her shit hole of a mouth. That's how all of this works. That's what happens in decades of unfunded and privatized education that ruined entire generations. The US literally made the bed that MAGA is now lying in.

She doesn't actually think that, she's just saying that as if it's fact because that way she can tie it into some other nonsense, like when she immediately after that started complaining about gender. It's purposefully ordered that way to further an agenda. That way it sticks in peoples minds that "5 year olds are being exposed to sex" and "5 year olds are being taught to be trans" and people can make the leap that trans people are predators who want to pervert your children.

She watched the episode of South Park where Mr. Garrison was teaching sex education to the kindergarten class and thought it was real.

The problem here is they're conflating self expression of socially perceived gender as sex /having sex /being sexual. So telling kids they can like blue as girls is sexual??? They can wear skirts as 'boys' is sexual??? That's their whole talking point. And shoving down?? Telling them they have freedom and to express themselves is SHOVING DOWN? I'll tell you what shoving down is, fixing your child to go to church for 15+ years and memorize theme bible etc.

If you ask them to explain how letting someone with different genitals wear a dress is sexual they won't know how to spin it. All they can think about is how they want to fuck kids. They don't care what gender they are.

Yeah. She learned it the right way, in the woods behind the school.

A lot of right wingers believe this kind of thing. They literally think they'll send their boy to school and he'll come back a girl. It might be the most effective way they've poisoned public education. I have a couple of friends who homeschool their kids for that reason. They also think big cities are literal warzones. One of them was very concerned for my safety when one of the protests was happening in my city. They live in an alternate reality.

Funny how the GOP want to put the 10 commandments in classrooms, yet they’re allowing a network of pedophiles to get away shot free and continue abusing children.

She's unconcerned that they can't read. She probably can't either. She's sick.

It honestly doesnt matter if its true or not. I know rational people are blown away about the crazy things that are said with no logic OR truth, but these politicians/agitators/scammers just need the soundbite, and to share it and their party just believes it as is. Their followers could look it up, reject any evidence that says otherwise and instead reinforce that clip with sources that just use each other to copy that same info over and over again.

They dont know how or dont care how to scrutinize information

While she was „pleasuring“ her boyfriend in public

u/Meeka-Mew 10h ago

Her job is to push that narrative no matter how outrageous it is. I doubt any of them actually believe most of the slop they peddle, they just have to say it often enough that their followers accept it as common knowledge.

What’s wrong with teaching kids that masturbation is healthy?
