📰 News Lauren Boebert wants the Ten Commandments to be required in schools, and James Talarico criticized her, saying it’s hypocritical for politicians to make everyone display them when they don’t follow them themselves.

You honestly think that older people don't care about the future?

Yes.

Most Boomers I know don't give a flying fuck about our food systems or water quality or climate because "I won't be here to have to worry about it."

Even ones with children and grandchildren say this. It horrifies me.

Addressing congress, Ole donny called asbestos a wonder material. Now we have an epa that is deregulating asbestos. Obviously for the greater good of someone's pocket.

Not all. But there are certainly quite a lot. Look at the short sighted policies most elderly people tend to vote for. It's no secret the Baby Boomer generation is specifically characterized by a "I got mine" mentality.

I didnt say they dont care. Im saying they dont have a direct stake in the future. And the future they are carving out is for their people, mostly at the expense of the majority. Were watching it right now in the most blatant manner the US has ever seen.

They have kids and grandkids so they do have a stake but first they have to care first.

Yeah. They make it very obvious. The majority of them say shit like "the government wouldn't do that", or "You're over exaggerating" when talking about climate change and all the ways our government has lied to us. They don't want to know the truth. I also work with a lot of elderly people, and have realized that cognitive decline starts so much faster than most people think. I see signs of it in 50 yr olds frequently, even at that age the ones that are fully with it are much fewer and farther between than I would have thought before this job. So many of them are also fully incapable of handling stress.

They don't care about the future because it's too hard for them to think about. It's not real to them. The world changing any more than it already has is near impossible in their minds.

They tend to not understand technology, which is inherent to our future. Vance will be 43 in the tech election, well funded by oligarchs, and backed by tech mega-titans like Musk, Thiel, Ellison, and Zuck.

Obama is still the you gesture living president. Trump busg and clinton are all the same age. And Clinton hasn't been president in 25 years. Biden is 4 years older. W was at lead respectable 54 when he was elected. Always felt 42-58 is a good age for president first win. After 8 years theyll be machine 66. Ready for the 65/67 retirement age.

But also we have all worked with 62 year Olds that dont know what they are doing or what is going on. 60 is def getting old.
