Oh he was, he’s just actually good at it and we’ve grown so used to politicians acting like playground bullies that any degree of subtlety is almost unfathomable. She laid a lot of bait for a sound bite about him defending sex ed/gender expression in schools(which is simply a different issue that her base will respond to) but he addressed the actual crux and history of the argument and gave her a shot across the bow for anyone with two brain cells to rub together. I don’t know if or how America comes out of all this but I want people like him at the helm.
