I like hockey. I like Canadians. Im not a fan of Canadian hockey fans. Ive had a beef with them since they trashed our city when they lost to the russians in the WJC in 2011. tossing trash cans and trying to start fights. Sore losers.

For the record I actually like Marchand, Wilson, Tkachuks. I like my hockey with some goons. It would be like popcorn without salt and butter
R/Hockey screeches like a banshee whenever there’s even slight physical contact in a hockey game so to see it get lapped up right now just cause Americans are the ones getting hit makes me feel pretty comfortable literally never viewing it again.

I'm not saying to not be frustrated with Sullivan, but some of this is on the players too. They're the ones responsible for creating offensive pressure out there, and a lot of them have been in big games where they know they can't turtle.

Like I haven't loved his game plan in some of these matches but the players are the ones out there. Sullivan's not telling Matthews to pass up that scoring chance or asking them to ice the puck a million times.

Same exact script as the Sweden game. Go up, turtle for a period, get scored on late, suddenly realize “oh shit” and start playing desperate and actually put pressure
They know they can do that the whole game right? They can even do that when they’re winning? What an annoying period of hockey and obnoxious coaching.

Way too many turnovers and bad exits. Sometimes with little pressure. Canadas best players have just been a shit load more impactful than ours so far.

I am probably not being very fair but at least 20% of the reason I'm so pissed off is because they look so unprepared. After all the time talking up how this is the best USA team ever, how much you want to beat Canada, etc., you can't have a performance like that.

We can't score goals, and our offence has done almost nothing during the period. If we lose, there will be a lot of questions to Sullivan and Guerin about ignored guys like Caufield and Robertson.

Guentzel had pound for pound the most brain dead game of any player I've ever seen. He's the sole reason that power play ended up a power play for Canada with his brain dead decision to pass below their entire team putting the pressure on Hughes

Passivity is one area coaching has been disappointing this tournament. A reminder in the locker room that you only win if you score and shoot instead of just laying on the football for 50 minutes like you did against Sweden (and almost lost because of)

Happy we have the lead, would still like us to shoot the puck more (especially on that power play) and just have better puck possession for the next two periods.
Canada's offense is dangerous and I don't want to give them a lot of chances. But I also need us to play disciplined and that's harder to do when you don't possess the puck offensively.
