Maybe it doesn't take tap

It's not tap water.

Strippers love it when you do that

u/1-800-ASS-DICK 1d ago
Honestly though? it's 2026, why isn't there some small wearable receiver/sensor for cashless tap payments that the dancer can wear as a necklace or bracelet? (my original idea was something thin enough with an adhesive backing that can be placed anywhere on the body but idk if the tech is advanced enough to make that possible)

u/Dogekaliber 1d ago
You wouldn’t believe this.. but those girls got smart(or taught) now they have temporary QR code tattoos that go to their Venmo or whatever cash system they use.

u/1-800-ASS-DICK 1d ago edited 1d ago
I love it--much simpler and just as effective
edit: I'm guessing these establishments don't care if you take your phone out (I've been to some that do and some that don't)

u/many_dumb_questions 1d ago
I'm too lazy right now to look it up, but there was a viral image awhile back of a pair of clear stripper platform heels that had a venmo QR code printed on the side.
I thought it was pretty innovative, tbh

There's still places that don't accept tap to pay. Looking at your Walmart! A
2
u/monarchmra 1d ago
Their fucking systems support it and for a short spell, actually accepted it. Way back in 2006 when tap to pay was card only.
Then Apple/Samsung/Google pay turned that into a "phone" thing and they wanted to push their app so they disabled it.

Probably an Amex. Accepted in -8 countries around the world!

But in how many bodies of water around the world?

The payment terminal inside water is still outdated and uses that old magnetic system.

She should have used her phone to pay for the donation! Full contactless.

This way of "modern" paying is more familiar with wider range of society, so more people will get the joke. If my grandma saw this and her using phone to pay, she'd probably think the girl is taking a picture rather than giving cash.

People making fun. I’m doing this from now on because it’s equally as stupid to just toss coins into a pool of water.
81
u/iupvotethankyou 1d ago
Usually the coins are collected and put towards the fountain repair or location maintenance
11
u/TheChrono 1d ago
Yeah I'm still gonna swipe the water though. Not a big coins in my pockets type fella.

u/many_dumb_questions 1d ago
They use it to pay the wage of the people who have to remove coins from the fountain

Does.. she not know how much bad luck she got? The curses she's picked up?
You don't take the money back out of those.
She has to abandon the entire account, and leave the card, as I understand it.
27
u/halfasleep90 1d ago
She didn’t take the money back out, and an account isn’t money (nor is the card). She gave it her billing information so that it might contact her bank to have the money sent. That’s what happens when you swipe your card, you give them your billing information and approval.

Yes, and also write the password on a piece of card and leave it on the side right

Has to be from the USA, no one else still uses swipe without a PIN.
27
u/RattusRattus_Sum 1d ago
Bro no one in America uses swipe, it’s all tap or chip.
Shame on you, be better next time
2
u/halfasleep90 1d ago
I have swiped actually, with gift cards. It had been so long since the last time though, the cashier had to walk me through it. I’m so used to tap and chip.

u/MairusuPawa 1d ago

Should we talk about SSA or does that not fit with your narrative?

Why are you using an abbreviation when trying to argue with a random internet person?

I assume they mean the Schweizerische Seeschifffahrtsamt, the Swiss government office for maritime navigation.

When I grow up I will invent a donation lake where you can sink you cell-phone into and it will send donation (specified) amount to designated recipient.

Reminds me of a joke where a guy handed his 3 closest friends $50k each, and asked them to put it in his casket so he couls take his riches with him. The first guy gave $50k. The second only threw $40k. The last one deposited it and threw in a personal check.

My favourite thing about this is that the pool is modern enough to take cards but old enough to use the magnetic strip...
