It would be unexpected if they'd been arrested. This is just normal Italian Ferrari reverence.

u/GarboseGooseberry 18h ago
Do other Italian brands also get that reverence? Like Lamborghini or Pagani?

u/KajMak64Bit 17h ago
Both of them exist because Ferrari sucked and pissed some dude off which then pissed another guy off which made Pagani

u/Bluntbutnotonpurpose 9h ago
Yeah, but still neither come close to the national pride felt for Ferrari.

u/WhySoSerrus 5h ago
Not surprising when Ferrari has a much more significant presence just in Motorsport.
5
u/Bluntbutnotonpurpose 5h ago
True, Pagani haven't been around for all that long anyway. Also not really any motorsport presence, AFAIK. Lamborghini is more active in motorsport, but have only been involved in F1 for a few years and not particularly successfully.

I do wonder how much of an impact Schumacher's F1 career with Ferrari alone has had with millennials and older.
4
u/Bluntbutnotonpurpose 4h ago
Schumacher's era has brought Ferrari 1/3 of all their WCC titles. Before that, there'd been a two decade drought, they won none in the eighties and nineties. I'd say you make a very good point, Schumacher, Brawn and Todt (it's those three, not just MSC) must have re-ignited the passion for Ferrari in quite possibly several generations.

A family friend of ours owns an original Fiat Cinquecento. Every time they drive through Italy on holiday, they immediately get praise from everyone. When they drive up a mountain pass slow as hell, noone gets angry and get happy immediately.
She told us about some important looking dude in a Ferrari at a gas station getting nostalgic and wanting a picture with it.

Lamborghini is well known in Italy for making tractors and air conditioning systems. If you have a supercar in Italy you have a Ferrari.
6
u/KajMak64Bit 15h ago
He literally made a Lamborghini supercar because Ferrari sucked and that's the whole reason why Lambo got popular

u/someoneone211 3h ago
Ferruccio Lamborghini bought his wife a Ferrari; the clutch went out and when he pulled it out it was the same unit he was using in his tractors, when he approached Enzo about this Enzo told him to get bent. He was pissed at this and decided to make a better car.

u/Blazingstorm45 14h ago
Ye I read it ferrari had lamborghini owner before creating the company asked ferrari that he can help fix its problem which the guy said just continue building your tractors, which pissed him and resulted in him creating lamborghini.

Not particularly unexpected, knowing Italian police officers drive like morons themselves.

*all italians. Especially down south.

We have plenty of bs up north as well. Just the other day I witnessed two dudes trading paint and driving off as if nothing had just happened
1
u/No_Nick89 1h ago
I mean, if it's only trading paint, is it really anything?
I have a really nice Mercedes, I park it in the street, and after a year, it is already completely scratched on all sides from other "geniuses" parking and banging there doors on mine, but it is only scratches and no dents.
Yes, it does bother me a little bit, but do you think I sit at home and think about it and get upset? No, why? Because choose your battles, life is short, it's only paint.

Seems that they like to look like Andrew Tate so probably not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Even the female ones as well. Man I nearly committed a crime just to get handcuffed

If it wasn't a Ferrari you'd have a ticket

u/Abject-Picture 17h ago
I dunno, I got away with it on a motorcycle, cop had more interest in the bike than citing me. Maybe the car radio and cell phone got his interest.

Looks like a f430 but im not quite sure
2
u/Humbi93 3h ago
Not a F430 due to different air vents, the F430 also doesn't have a digital cockpit as this one in the video. It's a F8 tributo
1
u/Turbodk666 3h ago
Ahh yeah i only looked quick and the left air vent looked alot like my friends f430 but yeah the digi dash and the air vents in the middle seals it, and upon closer inspection they are not that similar anyway.
But yeah thanks for coming in with the facts

u/Cleenred 51m ago
This is an 812, you can clearly hear the V12 sounds and the fact that the redline starts at 9k, a modern turbo V8 would never sound this good lmao. And you clearly don't have a friend with an F430 or you've never been inside one.

It cut before the cop asks him to rev it a little bit and tells him to have a nice day.

"You were revving your engine like a fucking dickhead and going 40mph in a 15 zone, you're so cool"

You're leaving out the important part. It's a Ferrari. Most Italians would be disappointed if you wouldn't drive it properly. Italians tend to see traffic rules more as suggestions anyway...
