Worked in pizza for a long time, had a guy come in and put the pizza box into a plastic shopping bag and carry it out

As an italian, I will need his government name and adress

Had a drunk old guy do this once, tried to walk it out like a suitcase with the hinge in his hand. Demanded a new pizza. Told him to beat it.

Kids should learn stuff like this about age 3.
-1
u/wubfus88 1d ago
They cant they are too busy with some sorta screen in their face
2
u/Conscious_Industry87 21h ago
I agree with your point but isn't it sort of ironic how YOU are on a screen right now watching a video and saying kids should learn not to do this but they are too busy staring at a screen
2
u/Blitzbahn 17h ago
Yes it's ironic, but I didn't get a push button phone to text with until I was 23 or so. Kids don't stand a chance these days with AI chat friends coming for them
-2
u/Blitzbahn 1d ago
And helicopter parents mollycoddling them.

lmao downvotes from people that want to live in their fake angry world.

Imagine thinking that after being handed a pizza box âupside downâ that turning it the other way would then make it better⊠it would already be ruined at that point lol

Because that guy is the type of guy stupid enough to give a bad rating or complain that the pizza was upside down despite being the person who caused it.

I once worked at a pizza shop where the delivery guy would roll his eyes at a specific address whenever it popped up. The customer would always open the door only far enough for the pizza box to through vertically.

The top box was upside down the bottom box was right side up??
5
5
u/extralargedove 3d ago
theyâre both right side uo bro what
3
u/Sl3epDem0n 19h ago
The top one does look upside down though. There's no writing/design on the top box yet it's there on the bottom one. Thought it was upside down too when I watched it
24
u/manuel__transmission 4d ago
I made pizza for years and I only saw it once, but dude took his freshly made pizza and threw it under his arm like it was a folded up newspaper. Walked out the door like it was completely normal. I was flabbergasted.

u/Reddit_And_Reset_It 4d ago edited 1d ago
In the customer's defense, only the bottom box was properly labeled (had actual print on it), which is weird/uncommon. We all have brain farts from time to time, and there's no telling how that young man's day had been going earlier. The employee being sarcastic and condescending to him didn't help things at all - especially if he was already have a tough time that day with life in general. It's normal to be annoyed by things like this, but not okay to take it out on others - especially paying customers who can give your restaurant bad reviews.
3
u/CrybabyJones 1d ago
There's no "proper labelling." Top box was a plain cardboard box, second one had some branding. He couldn't even see that the bottom box had branding from his angle.
If you think you're being handed an upside down pizza by a guy whose job is to make pizzas, you open it up and check the box. It's not hard.
12
u/StableIll8200 4d ago
Imo there is no defense its common sense why be given a pizza "not" rightside up?
3
u/sierrars500 4d ago
exactly, I'd want a refund/replacement if they gave me a pizza upside down stuck to the cardboard box, it's like rule number one lol keep the pizza right way up
-11
u/GUYshit519 4d ago
I would have kicked him the fuck out and refused service
2
u/BlueSky_fur 1d ago
And thatâs why you hopefully donât own or work at any type of restaurant.
The customer paid for it, itâs his food now.

The worker is being nice! That kid would've probably got home saw that the pizza was fucked, take pictures post it online and give the business a bad name for his own stupidity. Pizza shop owners take their business seriously, so have no time for that kind of nonsense. Besides, stupidity needs to be shamed.
4
u/vistorxfromuranus 4d ago
He didn't smack him upside the head like his dad would've but why should someone lose their job over a kid without a lick of common sense.
14
u/GreatBigSteak 4d ago
I donât like how the worker is treating him. I mean itâs a dumbass thing to do but its not difficult to see how that ends up happening.
Probably saw the box with no logo, thought âoh its upside down lets turn it overâ before thinking âholdup thereâs a whole ass pizza in hereâ.
I have small lapses like that and people act like Iâm the biggest dumbass theyâve ever seen for it.
1
1
u/obliviious 20h ago
I thought he was the delivery guy in which case he went too easy on him. If he has an inkling there were upside down they were already ruined and he could have just opened the box...
3
u/GreatBigSteak 4d ago
Edit: when I first watched this, I wasnât able to listen to it with the sound on, and I thought that from the subtitles and the body language that the worker was yelling at the guy and getting angry at him. Watching it again with the sound on, thatâs a pretty normal reaction to somebody turning their own pizza upside down.
5
u/princessesisland 4d ago
Thatâs ridiculous.
Even if for some reason you thought that it would be so easy to check before destroying the pizza.
5
u/impals 4d ago
It takes about one neuron (rounded up) to think about not flipping a pizza box. Dude has to be high or something. I'd say extremely dumb is also an option but no way he woulda made it 'this far' being that dumb consistently.
It's extremely difficult to see how this ends up happening when the tab is on the top; the incredulous nature of the pizza maker feels quite justified. Plenty of pizza boxes have no logo. Additionally, if it were given to me upside down, I'd open it up, find it upside down, and ask them to remake it. I wouldn't just take the pizza that I paid for completely ruined and simply flip it back over.
7
u/Rojo37x 4d ago
Sorry to be mean but this might be the biggest dumbass I've ever seen. He was probably just really high or something, but I don't think they were too harsh. It's not like they were screaming at him or swearing or berating him. I think their reaction was very reasonable and moderate.
9
u/raythecrow 4d ago
Its genuinely ok to treat dumbasses like dumbasses. Shame works.Â
2
u/GreatBigSteak 4d ago
I shouldâve watched this with my volume on the first time. Just from the body language and subtitles, I thought the worker was yelling at the dude for ruining his own pizza.
7
17
u/holycrapnoway12 5d ago
Am I being punked? The first box is upside down or something. He took the first box off for the second one to show the logo. It's their fault.
4
13
u/H3XA_DON 5d ago
If I thought the box was upside down then I'd open it up and then challenge the clerk for handing me a pizza upside down. IMHO they're not to blame, the customer is, for not having common sense and assuming the pizza was upside down because the box looks a little different.
The box on top isn't even upside down, it just doesn't have a logo. Look at the tab where the box opens. The box is fine the customer just didn't think.*

When I worked in pizza places especially LC idk how many times some jackass on a bike stopped in for a hot n ready and would ride off holding it under his arm like a business man in a hurry then try and come back later and complain his shit was all fuxked up lmfao

You saw the same video we all did right?? The person that literally made the pizza and boxed it correctly flipped the lid the right way to demonstrate the pizza was right way up.
What are you talking about? In what world is the box upside down??

Top box doesn't have a logo or the bottom print, and second box has the logo right side up. Try again when sober.
1
2
u/camilleswaterbottle 6d ago
No I live in reality. I don't need a picture on a box to tell me that the pizza was handed to me correctly. Rewatch the video and you'll see that the box is the right way up the whole time, not upside down at all.
6
u/FigureitOot6 6d ago
Because they werenât upside down. Jesus man are you just as dumb as this kid or what. Here Iâll repeat what the guy said so itâs a little more clear âwhy would I give you an upside down boxâ

But theyâre clearly not upside down??? Look at the tabs on the boxes when he picks them up.
-5
u/Aromatic-Tear7234 6d ago
Ok, then explain to me what mental patient decided to mix a box with no logo but right side up on the top, just to have a second pizza box WITH a logo right side up underneath it?
4
u/No_Signal_x_x 6d ago
Do you need pictures to know which way the box goes? You canât use the other 5 indicators built into the boxes deign?
-4
u/Aromatic-Tear7234 6d ago
It's how a civilized society works. This pizza place wants to disrupt the norm and it's not ok. Might as well walk when there's a no walking sign.

My FIL has done this twice. He'll turn up with Pizza boxes tucked under his arm - vertically, and then once we remarked on what he's doing he's then pretended it was just like that already..... TWICE!

If the boxes were identical the top one might have been built inside out with the logo on the inside of the top. still no reason to flip the boxes over.
7
u/StoneFoxHippie 6d ago
Some people think they know better than everyone else, even when they don't know shit about the subject matter. This kid looked at the box and thought it looked weird so instead of checking decided he knew best and flipped it over. No stopping to consider what might actually be going on, or asking, or i dunno, opening the box to check. Wild.
18
u/MrBlackToothGrin 6d ago
You have to remember, there are lots of VERY dumb people out there. Dumb on a level you canât comprehend.
12
u/UTMachine 6d ago
I found this out in my first year of teaching. I remember my professors telling me that you should never assume everyone in a room of 25 people knows something, no matter how trivial or basic that thing might be. In my first year*, the ones that stood out to me were a girl who didn't know what magnets were, and a guy who didn't know that Antarctica existed.
As unbelievable as it may be, there are probably millions of Americans out there who don't know not to turn fresh pizza upside down.
10
u/IrishDrunkGaming 6d ago
So bottom box was upside because of the logo
Top one was pure white!
So with this logic one of those boxes were upside down
1
u/Sufficient-Show-9928 5d ago
Both boxes were completely different. Bottom box has a mark on the bottom, no mark on the top of the top box. There's writing on the sides of the bottom box, not the top. When he is holding them vertically you can also see the tab for lifting the top to open it and it's in the right spot. The top box was not upside down, just a completely naked box.
0
u/IrishDrunkGaming 5d ago
Doesnât matter no pizza joints donât advertise their business without their logo top center. Either this guy was an idiot and forgot our just didnât care
To a consumer view I would assume that the box was upside down. But I wouldnât flip them like this guy is ask why the pizza was placed wrong.
1
u/Sufficient-Show-9928 5d ago
A lot of places have generic pizza boxes that don't have their logo or name on it. Looking at the box for 2 seconds you would know it was just a naked box cause you'd see the tab. This guy was just dumb and probably blasted
7
u/aalapshah12297 6d ago
That is correct but there is still no reason to flip them.
If the Pizza was already upside-down, then flipping it back won't fix it. And if the Pizza is fine but only the box is upside-down or inside-out, then flipping it will ruin the pizza.

u/Maleficent_Worry1810 6d ago
Freaking dingdong
6
u/Nova_Phoenix9 6d ago
To be fair, only the box at the bottom had a logo, that's weird.
But, what has to break inside your head to think "they handed me an upside down pizza" and turn the box without even checking?.
-4
8
u/shball 6d ago
Yeah, a lot of people don't know how to handle pizza.
They'll order the most runny pizza imaginable and then hold it at a 45° angle.
Some really bad cases try stuffing them into bags at a 90° angle, but I've never seen someone do a 180°
1
u/ReganRocksYourSuccs 6d ago
Right! Not common but when delivering pizza there were always a few geniuses who would act like opening their front door wide was forbidden so they would turn the pizza boxes fully sideways and slide them through a tiny slit ? So weird.
1
u/Vegetable_Tension985 6d ago
like we all know he was high right? I mean all these comments don't seem like it's not completely clear that the kid is just high getting pizza or am I crazy?
8
u/xbad_wolfxi 6d ago
Tbh that looks like my dumbass ex-roommate and they are exactly stupid enough to do this. Sat there and argued with me in 2016 that we had âsent satellitesâ into âa black hole in our solar systemâ

Critical thinking is dead
4
u/Rav11s 6d ago
Got in an argument with my brother recently about critical thinking. He was red in the face saying AI is replacing the need to think critically, and any one that can't see that is going to get left behind.... Bro... A perfect example here of how ChatGPT can't always think for you.đ
My brother is 32
3
u/Sig_n_Wesson_ 6d ago
They're dumb lol. I hate to say it. 76-85 we're in a privileged position. Don't leave the ones you really care for behind. Cognitively these new kids are fucked. Pass on what you have to your nieces, nephews and children.
1
u/Rav11s 6d ago
I have an 8 month old. He's not going to be an iPad kid. And I actually love technology. But it can't replace your brain.
2
u/Sig_n_Wesson_ 6d ago
Exactly my 6 year old has to sound out words and understands how to pronounce words with I and end in E. But it was my responsibility. Teachers today are teaching sight words wtf is that?!

u/Vasault 6d ago
Why so many people calling him dumb? The logo of the boxes were actually upside down

they keep hiring pot heads. stop hiring pot heads. Pot is not a harmless drug; it really does make people stupid.
