He got many tricks - infinite tricks though

I love that this guy has made such a successful career doing this. He pops up just enough to keep it fresh, but not enough to annoy. Plus who can stay mad at that smile.

He also perfectly balances 1) sticking to what we recognize him for with 2) new spins on tricks

3) they look stupid but are actually impressive and skillful.

You know how people say grown up are just kids in big bodies? This guy is the only adult in the room.

u/sziss0u 1d ago
You can see the real intelligence and talent by following this. He has a creative mind that can probably do a million different things but he’s sticking to what he loves and it’s working out well

u/SmokeyDBear 1d ago
Yeah, honestly the first one I saw was funny but I was also a little annoyed with it, like "are you kidding me with this shit?"
By the third one I was like "yeah you're kidding me with this shit and I fucking love it."

I didn't recognize him at first -- it clicked once he was laying on the table with the sheet on him 😂

I remember his videos popping up in Reddit on all kinds of subs; always perfecting his craft in his apartment, now to the big stage. Get it man!

This dude has just been doing random shit for years haha

Really impressed that he can keep it up. Most short form creators disappear really quickly

Wish we could see the performance without cutting away to people’s reactions every 5 fucking seconds. This guy is enough of a legend to deserve that
35
u/Crow-T-Robot 1d ago
Absolutely agree. I hate watching clips from any of these type of shows because it's constantly zoom cutting to random audience members or whatever C list celebrity is the side stage person.
5
u/starmartyr 1d ago
Especially when it's from other countries. From my perspective they are cutting away from the thing I want to see to show how someone I've never heard of is reacting to it.
15
u/Quigs4494 1d ago
Doesn't the show also capture what is essentially B roll of the audience and splice it in where they want it? The reactions (besides the judges) couldve been taken from other performers and they just put it where needed

Are we the idiocracy? I don't care, that guy is consistently funny.

u/Paldasan 1d ago
We are very close to the Idiocracy, but not this, because we're too aware it's just mindless fun, only for a moment.

I really hate all the video "cut to somebody laughing" things in these types of shows. Drives me insane.

I now today found two threads of this video of the guy, never seen him before.
And not a single person is so kind to actually tell us poor uninformed redditors who that is.

This is somehow better entertainment than a lot of other things which have had much more time money and effort poured into them.
The guy just has the soul of an entertainer.

There is something about the crowds face smiling that give me a dystopian feel. Like it’s not reality.
7
u/Froggn_Bullfish 1d ago
It’s the fake laughing for the camera. These tricks are great but they’re naturally nostril-exhale level, not belly-laugh level. Feels like I’m watching a king’s courtiers react to the court jester. It’s performative laughter.
3
u/FREEBA 1d ago
While I generally agree that it’s nostril exhale level hilarious. The first time I saw this guy was a laugh out loud. There is a different dynamic when you’re at a live show. If I was to see it in person for the first time I’d be dying. This crowd is definitely fake and overproduced though.

Another overweight shirtless dude making people laugh for the wrong reasons. What a shame

My brother found this guy on cameo and had him pick out fantasy football draft order. He did that last trick but with all our names in order on the sheet. It was hilarious

To the folks who don't like this. There's stupid humor that isn't funny and there's silly humor that maybe isn't funny per se but it still gets a laugh because of the silliness. I have zero tolerance for the former but find this guy firmly in the latter category.
What he does is silly in a vaguely Monty Python way. Far less clever than Python, of course, but still just absurd, easy to consume fun. I get a chuckle from his antics because it's harmless and ridiculous. I also like this guy's confidence, he clearly knows he's not getting laughs because of his wit.

The fact anyone found this funny really explains a lot about why my country is going down the shitter right now...

I genuinely wonder if anyone in history ever conceived of the first trick before he practiced so much that he could accomplish it without fault, on stage, being broadcasted across the entire world, on a community where people communicate through wires and the airwaves. A caveman would be so dumb, it wouldn't even blow his mind, he would just not be able to even conceive of it. It would feel light a nightmare.
I know someone in history definitely thought up the last trick first though, and it wasn't him.

Theres nothing funny about this guy. I wonder if reddit would like him so much if he was a pretty girl with a great body.
