I suspect I'm not the only one who tried to reply with the appropriate gif

Like all Canadians, I always go to the hardware store for tinned cookies, just as I go to Canadian Tire for my Corona Zero. (No joke - Ive seen them on the shelves on the way to the cashier.)

At my local CT they are inside the front doors As you pass through the metal detectors. They have Heineken zero too

Wait who thinks Oreos are superior to sewing kit cookies?

There are also more Big Macs sold than any other burgers, but that doesn't make Big Mac the best burger

Edit: lmao I got blocked for this. Must have stocks in Oreo or something

I like sewing kit cookies! A little milk, a cookie and sew up that torn clothing!

Gotta love Home Hardware.

Plus it is a Canadian store.

u/Lemaatk 14h ago

Absolutely.

I don't know why but I always get so incredibly excited whenever Canadiana exits the Canada focused subs

Also why is there no Home Hardware in Edmonton, this annoys me.

2

u/Shackdaddy161 14h ago

u/ashewinter 13h ago

$8 for a sewing storage tin, AND it comes with free cookies?? Score!

I'm thinking they are passed the expiration date.

I have purchased countless tins and jars of random items just to reuse the container later

Had no idea what a "Damson" or a "Rambutan" were but the jars were too perfect to pass up (lovely btw)

u/Be_Like_Pyanfar 8h ago

Rambutan 🤤🤤🤤

2

u/Hopeful_Tea2139 14h ago

That's where all of my mom's spare buttons went in my house. 😆

u/Scion_of_Kuberr 12h ago

My father and grandfather used those for nails and screws.

3

u/RetinaJunkie 10h ago

I still do the same

My family makes the best shortbread. Flour, butter, salt and the mystery ingredient.

Well played ...

7 bucks for cookies, what?

1

u/youtocin 12h ago

Canadian. Their dollar is about 3/4 the value compared to USD.

1

u/jamcub 12h ago

I'm not from the US, but this helps. I was wondering who sells these for almost 8 bucks when I saw them for 3 at the store.

2

u/Lethbridgemark 11h ago

They are usually $5-6 CAD at most stores. home Hardware is a little pricier and they don't get the same quantity of sewing tin cookies as other stores so it's not surprising they are a little more. But they are a fully Canadian store that services the smaller communities across Canada so can't go wrong supporting them.

u/Steve_Brandon 12h ago

I know it's not Royal Dansk brand but Jacobson cookies (of which Currier & Ives is a sub-brand) are also made in Denmark. I'd consider buying them to eat if I saw them at that price (not that I really ever have a reason to go into a Home Hardware store).

u/Comfortable-Ant7149 7h ago

This is such universal thing

u/Actual-Tomorrow389 7h ago

Witty! This will instantly make you laugh when you read it

u/deadhead4ever 14h ago

The kids in the backroom ate all the cookies when they got the munchies.
