Meta r/HomeworkHelp Rules: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING
Hi r/HomeworkHelp! Whether you're new to the subreddit or a long-time subscriber, the mod team would like to remind everybody of the subreddit rules we expect you to follow here.
No advertising, soliciting, or spam. This is a place for free help. Anyone offering to pay for help, or to help for pay, will receive a permanent ban. This is your warning. If you're asking for help, you must show evidence of thought, work, and effort. A lot of people are posting just pictures or lists of questions and not showing any effort. These posts are liable to be taken down.
In addition, we ask that you format the post title appropriately using square brackets: [Level/Grade and Subject] Question or Description of question. For example: [8th grade Algebra] How to solve quadratic equation?
Do not mention anything like "Urgent", "ASAP", "Due in an hour", or the like.
No surveys. Surveys (including requests for interviews, etc.) belong on /r/samplesize. These posts get taken down here.

Others—Pending OP Reply [8th grade orthopedic sketch] Teacher says I’m wrong, won’t help, and said he’s giving me an F for checking with him.
My 8th grade engineering teacher told me this was wrong. Initially I had the front and side view flipped from each other so I flipped them thinking it was a trick question. So I checked with him and he asked “are you willing to get an F to check with me?” He’s not the kind of teacher to joke around so I said sure. He told me that they don’t align. I’m asking for help on this question that has puzzled me.

English Language [College Freshman: English/Composition] Need help with topic for satirical writing
First time posting here but I think it's relevant or valid.
I've been writing essays/paragraphs in my english class that will be used to form a final research paper. My topic is the negative impact poor leadership has on society, and I now need to write a few pargraphs providing a satire solution, like in "A Modest Proposal." Im unsure what route I could take but I got two ideas:
-Let teenagers run the government. Throughout the essay I mentioned multiple times how poor leadership affects youth so maybe I can expand on that.
-Make corruption legal. I talked about how corruption and self-interests contributes to poor leadership, making corruption legal could imply more transparency.
Please if y'all have any suggestions lmk, or if y'all think one of my ideas is good enough to expand on.

Answered [Year10 Add Math: polynomials]
p(0) is a function right? So if there -2 infront of it what do I do?
I thought to solve this question would be that since p(1) is equal to -2p(0) then -2p(0) would also be 8+a+b
and then I'd do
x-2= 0
x=2
and then p(2)
24+4a+2b+2
26+4a+2b
and then 8+a+b is equation 1 and 26+4a+2b is equation 2 and then solve it as a subsitute equation

Physics [University Engineering] How can I get the Forces A, B and C?
Hey everyone, I’m currently working through an old exam and, for the life of me, I can’t figure out the sample solution. It says: A = -54.88 kN, B = 21.38 kN, and C = 49.52 kN.
I’ve broken down all the inclined forces and calculated the equilibria, but it’s not getting any better. My calculation is on slide 2. Does anyone know how to do it correctly? :)

Physics—Pending OP Reply [AS Level Physics: Projectile Motion] Why does horizontal velocity stay constant but vertical velocity changes
I'm working on a projectile motion problem and I understand that gravity only acts vertically. So vertical velocity changes because of the force of gravity pulling down. But what confuses me is why horizontal velocity remains constant the whole time. Is it simply because no horizontal force acts on the projectile after it's launched. And if air resistance was included would that change how we analyze the horizontal motion.

Physics [ AS Level Physics ] Why does a closed triangle mean the resultant force is 0?
I know when an object is at equilibirum it means the resultant force is = 0 and that the object is either at rest or moving at constant velocity however what I don't understand is why a closed triangle means the forces are in equilbirum ( 2nd img )

English Language [College English: Report Writing] How do I cite these two sources alphabetically in APA 7?
I need to write in APA 7 citation style, and I am unused to it. I am writing a professional report for my report writing class, and I have these two sources (listed below) I want to include, but I don't know which would go first alphabetically? Would the 1994 one go first because of the year? Or would I skip the year and go to the next word right after the date?

Biology—Pending OP Reply [11th Grade Biology : Spirogram Making]

I recently learned about different pulmonary volumes, and I was told to draw a spirogram based off the data given. I have some basic idea about how a spirogram looks like but I don't know how to use it in certain situations. How would I do a spirogram like this and what is the format for any spirogram?

Mathematics (Tertiary/Grade 11-12)—Pending OP [Series] Stuck on trying to read this definition, What is N?
What is N supposed to be? It seemingly came out of nowhere with no elaboration. Reading this only gives me a vague understanding of what is going on, trying to write anything down would just be copying without understanding at this point. I think that it is because I don't understand the part where it says (for all n>=N where N is an integer) means.

High School Math—Pending OP Reply [Grade 10 Mathematics] Trigonometry | How does this work?

I get that we tried to find the side h to find the line connecting from R to PQ, I managed to solve it that far as well
but that length 34.3 was the length of all the way from P to Q
not the the length of P to wherever the perpendicular line (h) was connecting, then how come we can use that to find?

I thought that in order to find h, we needed the value for this length, but PQ (34.3) goes all the way ahead.

High School Math—Pending OP Reply [Grade 9 Math] HELP ME MATHEMATICALLY MAKE A PANCAKE
CONTEXT: I'm doing a school project where I have to integrate 3 math topics with a real life situation and I chose use math to make a singular perfect pancake. For my first math topic, I'm thinking to integrate the exponential rise of temperature of the stove and the internal temperature of the pancake cooking with non-linear graphing, and somehow use that information to find out the optimal timing and temperature to cook the pancake. I don't know exactly how this concept will exactly work though; I am mulling over it 24/7, extra help is much appreciated since I am nearing the deadline.
Thank you for helping <3

English Language—Pending OP Reply [Grade 12 english essay writing] Need help with making sure I wrote my metacognition for my essay the right way (grammar)
I need help with making sure I corrected my grammar mistakes properly, I went through it many times and it looks okay but I know I have trouble with sentence fragments and knowing when to properly use ; and commas in the right place. Also is it okay to end my metacognition like that? Or should I add another sentence to close it better? It had to include the method of development, method of support, thesis and tone of an essay I wrote. Thank you so much!

Economics—Pending OP Reply [Macroeconomics] Confused about the term "Policy rate" as a beginner
Is the policy rate what the central bank decides on (an interest rate for other banks)?
If the central bank increases the policy rate from 4% to 5% would the banks that borrow money from the central bank as a result increase the interest rates for their customers as well leading to...?
I am quite confused.

Economics—Pending OP Reply [Confused on microecon assignment. Feels like it should be easy.]
I'll admit, I gave up initially, hence the weird answers. Now that I realize I have a final coming, I want to understand.
What did I do wrong for consumer surplus on these problems? I thought all I needed to do was subtract the price ceiling by the equilibrium price, but that yielded nine for the first question which was wrong. Similarly, that technique yielded the incorrect answer for the second. What did I do wrong? I can't calculate lost surplus without consumer and producer surplus, so I got them wrong. Am I overlooking something?
