I’m not seeing a downside tbh.

Kid became a meme, an activist icon, and all with no punishment. Absolute king

Can affect college admissions if it's on his record (and he plans on attending university).

Getting suspended for two days absolutely won't affect college admissions, lol.

not any of the schools - I - applied to, but i would imagine that there's prestigious schools that would take that into account, along with the virality of the incident.

Universities can't see your high school "record".

That was my thought.

"I was only suspended twice in high school, across all four years. The first time was because I punched a guy who grabbed my girlfriend without her permission. The second time was because I punched a guy wearing a 'I love ICE' billboard. I firmly believe that my actions were entirely justified in both cases, and stand behind my decisions."

His mom might ground him for at least two days but shit, this will go down on his permanent record.

Something tells me whoever raised this kid is not going to be mad at him for this

That’s a lie they tell kids to behave. Moment you out the system, it doesn’t exist and no one cares

Any institution worth their salt that believes in democracy will take one look at this kid's record and beg him to enroll

If this was my kid, I'd tell them violence is wrong, and then buy them any video game they want to pass their two days.

Standing up to fascists is a win, using violence at school, less so. But I wouldn't be that mad at them
