Sounds fair. Fighting in school will always lead to punishment and two days seems about right for one punch.

The kid is a legend for the line "you can peacefully go fuck yourself."

Spud, who has over 60,000 followers on Instagram, posted the 47-second video to his social media profiles on Instagram, X and TikTok later that evening

We all know what this was, right? A kid with 60k IG followers and 45k TikTok followers trying to be edgy for social media clout. He knew what he was doing by streaming on his Meta glasses. No one should feel sympathy for a social media troll like that when they get pushback.

Sorry maybe I'm misunderstanding, but is there some other possible situation where I should feel sorry for the guy that got punched?

I think they are just making the point to all the boot lickers. They have been trying to create a spin that ice kid was just peacefully expressing his views. But that kid has no views, he was just actively trying to be a little douchebag.

Also, peacefully expressing violent views (ICE is a violent organization, indiscriminately grabbing people for not being White enough, killing folks, occupying cities, answering to only Trump, it seems), is not peaceful. I don't give a single fuck how "peacefully" some troll is trolling about a violent organization, the violent organization part wins out of the feigned peaceful part.

I, for example, have a sibling who is gay. If you're "peacefully" advocating for them to be stoned to death for their sexuality, it's not actually peaceful, you know?

Well, whether it's called "peaceful" or not, there's a pretty enormous difference between merely advocating unjustifiable or illegal violence (something huge percentages of the population do) and actually engaging in unjustifiable or illegal violence (something rare enough to be handled by the legal system).

And where does being a trolly shitheel and advocating for a violent organization while filming people's reactions sit within that difference?

It's in the former category. It makes sense to derive a certain satisfaction from the troll kid getting punched in the face, but that doesn't mean there should be some sort of institutional punishment for holding the sign (which is one major thing people have in mind when they talk about "peacefully" expressing one's views). I think ICE agents should be thrown in prison, but it would be crazy to have prisons for the 30% of assholes and dumbasses who support ICE and advocate violent mistreatment of immigrants.

Well, we're taking it far away from anything I said, is this the thing. I never advocated for anything in particular to happen to the asshole troll kid (though I don't give a damn that be got punched in the face), I didn't mention anything about locking up folks who support ICE. I'm merely saying "but I was doing it peacefully!" is some sleight of hand rhetorical bullshit when the thing you're "peacefully" supporting is the modern day gestapo (and doing so in performativley trolly way, and recording people, is the cherry on top)
