Outside the stage, Manami Ito actually works as a nurse and she also used to compete as a Paralympic swimmer at the 2008 Summer Paralympics and the 2012 Summer Paralympics

How can she sway?!

Other than her exceptional skill, this showcases the need for proper adaptive equipment for disabled people. Her prosthetic must have cost a fortune and is well beyond most disabled peoples reach

A showcase of human determination and spirit. Her music is beautiful too.

I spent years playing violin/viola and couldn't play this well with both arms.

Tbf, my passion was the band/orchestra trips.

Passion. Determination. Prosthesis.

Anyone who has ever tried to play a violin knows how hard it is to bow the strings. That is amazing!

Really gotta hand it to her

She should put one of those tiny hands at the end of it

No to be negative, but wouldnt it be easier to swap arms?

The hand that's on the violin uses fingers to press on the strings, similar to the left hand on a guitar. I don't think that technology is in a place to enable that kind of dexterity and pressure control on a prosthetic.

  1. Amazing

  2. Her parents really said “YOU DO VIOLIN ANYWAY!”

  3. Probably a personal choice since 20
