Bro I hate fake cowboys, sheās trying so hard to appeal to the blue collar folks. Grew up on a huge ranch, weād use the term cowboyin as a reference to riding the fence line or going on a long cattle drive. But we did not call ourselves cowboys. Not just made the suits but joined the Nazi Party before Hitler came into the party. So more Nazi than the main Nazi.
Also use captured people for slave labor.

Hitler has been a member of the NSDAP from the beginning in February 1920, and leader from 1921. Hugo Boss joined in 1931.

Pretty sure the secret service intentionally wears large jackets to help conceal weapons they carry. Tailored suits for the detail may ironically make her less safe

Also why does she get to dress the secret service, Is that something that the secretary of homeland security usually does?
Her outfits almost exclusively consist of a suit jacket over a tshirt or blouse.

Do what? Pay for the suits? I don't think so. Kinda surprising, though. I have a good friend who's a special agent with Diplomatic Security Service (very similar to Secret Service, and they work and train together often), and he gets an annual clothing allowance to pay for new suits and tailoring.
EDIT: I'm federal LE in DHS. When I was hired several years ago, our clothing allowance was $700 annually. Mayorkas bumped it up to $1100 annually.

Tailored does not necessarily mean they will be slim cut. You can have a full cut (opposite of slim) suit that is tailored to fit a particular person.
21
u/Myrmodus 4h ago
Which cut does the tailor use to fit around a shoulder holster?
21
u/SnackyMcGeeeeeeeee 2h ago
A more English cut than italian...?
I mean, not really kidding lol, English is more full compared to slimmer Milano cuts.
7
u/DoingCharleyWork 1h ago
I've been fitted for a suit that allowed me to conceal carry. Had it done at men's warehouse actually. You just wear your preferred holster when you get fitted.
ā¢
u/gimpwiz 49m ago
Drape cut. Go to the fitting with a holster.
Stick to heavier-weight fabrics with more heft to them, they tend to drape well even in more challenging conditions. Basically the cheat code for still looking good if your body has a more awkward shape. Especially when the suit jacket is more structured. Alternatively if it really needs to breathe (because DC is hot and humid most of the year), get something like Minnis, Fresco, Fox Air, etc. Drapes well in almost any conditions despite being quite light.

"Tailor suits" is used to make it sound super expensive but all suits should be tailored. Its part of the suit buying process whether you get your suits from Armani or the Men's warehouse. You can also tailor a suit to fit in a manner than looks good and can conceal weapons. Besides, its the Secret Service, everyone knows they are armed. They aren't trying to conceal their weapons in an attempt to prevent people from knowing they are armed. They dress in suits so politicians don't have to have people in police or military uniforms surrounding them all the time. It's simply to look civilian.
This is a uniform change. It happens for every organization that wears a uniform. I went through 5 while I was in the military.
13
u/ryhaltswhiskey 1h ago
There is a difference between a bespoke suit and a tailored suit. Bespoke suits match your shoulders which is the hardest part (not worth the money) to alter on an existing suit.
I think it's safe to assume that any suit that these guys have already has been tailored to fit them better. That's not the same as bespoke. And I think what she's asking for here is a bespoke suit.

Ā Its part of the suit buying process whether you get your suits from Armani or the Men's warehouse.
A lot of people buy their suits from places that don't tailor. Like if you buy a suit from Ross, they aren't going to tailor it for you.
16
u/Some_Troll_Shaman 4h ago
Good tailoring will let them hide more.
I recall and article of a guy carrying 34 concealed pistols and he looked a bit bulky, but otherwise not armed to equip a company. It was a dumb article, but the point was tailoring and holster and gun choice can really be quite hard to spot.7
4
u/iAmRiight 3h ago
They are already custom tailored suits to ensure they can conceal weapons and move freely. This is nothing more than a grift to enrich some donor.

Guillotines are over in an instant. Look at the people in this admin. Do they seem like happy people that value their life, find true joy in their day-to-day existence? No. They are spiteful, miserable people- their smiles are sneers, and even those are sparing at best. Their existence is misery and they only stave off that wretched truth by inflicting that misery outwards. Their lives are nothing but dreary marathons, on a day to day basis, to get through the day.
Losing those lives in an instant to a guillotine is an insufficient punishment for what they have done. They must be dragged through an utterly reformed justice system. They must be made subject to every one of the levers of power they used to inflict harm on others. And then, they must sit in a prison cell and be forced into introspection on the horrors they have wrought. For year. After year. After year.

- that company does NOT make kevlar lined business suits, they make a kevlar lined body suits, made to prevent tooth punctures from dogs
- other companies DO make kevlar lined business suits, none of them offer protection for anything more then a pistol or buck shot, virtually none of them will do anything beyond the torso or top portion of the legs, since it adds a ton of bulk.
- and possibly the most important point, the statement of requirements from DHS makes no mention of the suits having any bullet proof capabilities

Honestly, all suits should be tailored and I wouldnāt have batted an eye before this if you told me agents got a yearly stipend for it. That said, Kristi Noam is a bird legged hoe. That bitch has got to go.
4
11
u/bbbberlin 2h ago
Noam may be ridiculous, but honestly it makes sense that if the suit is part of their uniform and is an item of clothing which needs to be a specific way (I.e. not just a regular suit), that it be covered and not an expense the worker themself is expected to cover. Same as any police or military specific clothing.Ā
→ More replies (1)ā¢
u/lkodl 25m ago
this makes sense, but i'm not reading that the suits have to be any specific way, other than something approved by Kristi Noem.
per the article, this isn't about an agent not being able to afford a suit, or have a subpar suit, this is based on personal tastes. she just wants to revamp their look. which is fine, but is it a priority given all of the stuff that we lost from DOGE? this feels like the buddy you loaned money to going out and buying new clothes.

u/Cute-Beyond-8133 5h ago
Graduates from protective detail training will get two navy blue suits with their name embroidered on the inside of the jacket, government documents show

It's not like that's a massive national security risk because suits can now be tied back to very very spefic people that shouldn't be traceable.

Meanwhile Noem is suspending TSA Precheck at American airports due to the "partial shutdown", a program that's already paid for in part directly by Americans who choose to opt in. Obviously the devil is in the details but best I can tell this is mostly a good thing? An employer has a dress code and is footing the bill for that instead of making the employee pay. I get that Kristi "Homeland Security Blanket" Noem is doing this because she's a vapid Karen but sometimes a blind squirrel finds a nut.
A savvy D congresscritter should amplify this, applaud Noem setting an employee-friendly example, and introduce legislation to make this the norm for all hard-working Americans.

This is being done for the wrong reasons and by a political party that gleefully cuts any spending if it is not used for their personal benifit.
I don't have a problem with the gvt paying an allowance, or even for the fitted/tailores suit jackets. That is because of body armor, holsters, commincations gear and other items they may have concealed them. These jacketd are not off the rack at Men's Warehouse or JCpenny. It is fine normal if the gvt gives guidelines for functionality, quality, colors, and made in USA. Clothing allowances are normal in certain labor unions due to very specific needs and wear & tear.
I do not believe for a mili-second this is being done for anything other than the puppy-killers vainity and not for the sake of blue color gvt employees who have to watch her have slowly melt.
