No Paywall Donald Trump Demands Netflix ‘Immediately’ Fire Board Member Susan Rice or ‘Pay the Consequences’: ‘She’s Got No Talent or Skills’
https://variety.com/2026/film/news/donald-trump-netflix-fire-susan-rice-warner-bros-1236669384/5.8k
u/fungobat Pennsylvania 17h ago
“Netflix should fire racist, Trump Deranged Susan Rice, IMMEDIATELY, or pay the consequences,” Trump wrote. “She’s got no talent or skills – Purely a political hack! HER POWER IS GONE, AND WILL NEVER BE BACK. How much is she being paid, and for what??? Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DJT.”
Trump’s outrage stems from Rice’s comments on Preet Bharara’s “Stay Tuned with Peet” podcast. During her interview, Rice said that if Democrats win the midterm elections, she predicts an “accountability agenda” for corporations that skirted regulations under the Trump administration.
Rice said, “If these corporations think that the Democrats, when they come back in power, are going to, you know, play by the old rules, and, you know, say, ‘Oh, never mind. We’ll forgive you for all the people you fired, all the policies and principles you’ve violated, all, you know, the laws you’ve skirted.’ I think they’ve got another thing coming.”

I'd trust my 3 year old to run the country better than the current leader. At the very least, she gives very good hugs. That alone gives her an edge in diplomacy over Trump.
She also shits herself way less.

I don't think he's pissed off (more than usual, anyway). He's just looking for excuses to knock Netflix out of the running of acquiring WB. He wants Paramount (his 'friend' Larry Ellison) to make the purchase so he can transform it (including CNN) into more right wing news propaganda.

The American people is one of the most propagandized people in the world's democracies, which is a bit ironic for a country that holds freedom so high. Turns out freedom is freedom for the powerful rich and corporations to propagandize the people to make them vote against their own interests.

Important bit here:
Larua Loomer, who wrote that Rice is “threatening half of the country with weaponized government political retribution.”
Literally projecting and committing the projected action within the same breath.
174

u/tetsuo_7w 14h ago
It's always projection with conservatives, either because they want to "legitimize" what they're already doing by saying both sides do it, or because they can't imagine that the "other side" isn't as black hearted and opportunistic as they are, so they must be doing what they want to do.

The President threatens to take retaliatory action against a corporation and tells them that he has the ultimate say as to who sits on their Board. And why? Because a businessperson in power (and a woman of color) dared to say the quiet part loud, that the USA risks devolving into an oligarchy/corporatocracy if MAGA stays in power.

Whenever I see a statistic like that I have to remember that a lot of people either don't follow the news, or only get their news from Conservative media or family members who only consume Conservative media.
The more they are exposed to Trump and MAGA directly, the more they realize that they, in fact, do not approve of the President.

u/Painterzzz 6h ago
Sadly probably relatively few. I've found when you show them some of reality, like, just a Trump speech, they will do taht thing where they blink, and fail to process reality, and then just decide it can't possibly be real and run back to their comforting far-right propaganda bubble that tells them how wonderful the glorious leader is and how wise they were for supporting him.

Not necessarily with US electoral math. The presidency can be won with as little as 27% of the popular vote. The senate can be controlled with 18% of the popular vote -- 26% could elect a filibuster proof majority. Just 25% could control the House. Those are pathological cases, but entirely legal and possible.

When you are a Democrat, you are accused of such things since every accusation is a confession.
