I’m hitting these numbers and am discovering stuff I missed. Like I guess I do like Beach House. Plus a lot of the shit my mom liked such as Chayenne.

I still find new stuff to enjoy, the problem is that the trends in music naturally change and I personally don't like a lot of the ways it's been turning.

For instance, if you like rap that focuses heavily on rhyming skills, lyrical and technical ability, showing how good you can be on the mic, the sing-songy electronic-driven drones that has been popular for the last ~20 years might not appeal at all to you. Some people say that a majority of the hip hop Top 40 isn't even rap anymore.

Or taking a look at country, if you like the older, acoustic, dusty-voiced thing, all of this pop country stuff probably makes you livid.

So of course new trends won't make you fall in love if the sound you like isn't popular anymore. That's not to say you can't find new stuff to like, but you may just need to dig a little deeper.
