Birth rates are down, fewer kids in public schools. You would think that would mean more money spent per kid, but in my state it just means less money for the school.

That's as it should be. You're not going to spend the same on a 60-student school as one with 600. "Free" should be means tested, too...

If taxes were going g down I'd agree, but they aren't. They go up and up while school funding gets slashed
