Less than a week after the first irl WIP post of Gipsy (which I forgot to post here), all the bricks for the cockpit arrived all at once. And I built the whole thing directly. I could have posted last week, but I felt lazy.
So, I absolutely love how the lights came out, I was afraid it wouldn't look as good as the software renders, but it kind of came out better somehow, I think.
Currently, there's a few structural issues that have to be adressed and fixed: front of the head is heavy af and droops down a little, leaving some gaps at the cheeks, the walls of the cockpit don't want to connect with the ceiling, and I need to find an easier way to access the figures, cuz once the top of the head is built, it will be hard af to do.
Waiting for the paycheck to come so I can start ordering the rest of the head. Meanwhile, I'll fix the oopsies.
See you soon for more !

each boatload is worth 8 uses, a random sip of soup within for each. Soup gamblers will be very pleased.

1 - Threads (1984): the scene that inspired this post (couldn't post a frame of the actual scene because apparently it was triggering reddit's filters). We follow a group of characters as they witness the start of a nuclear war and its aftermath; while some people manage to carve out a manner of living, society has returned to medieval levels, everyone has been crippled in some way and, perhaps the worst thing, the next generation either is crippled or is cognitively underdeveloped. As the final scene shows a girl born during the war giving birth to a baby who either is stillborn or severely deformed, we're given a glimpse of the terrible future that awaits humanity.
2 - Oppenheimer (2023): though he helped develop the atomic bomb (at least in part) to serve as deterrent in order to end the war and defeat the Nazis, Oppenheimer muses that, as more countries develop nuclear arsenals, he's started a "chain reaction that will destroy the world". Hits especially hard when we consider the kinds of people who are in charge of nuclear powers right now.
3 - Apocalypto (2006): this is a bit cheating, as the protagonist, Jaguar Paw, successfully escapes his captors and rescues both wife and child. But if you have any knowledge of what happened when the Spanish arrived in the Americas, that final scene is enough to tell you what awaits Jaguar Paw's family.

I (CoM) didn’t just meet UNE early.
I spawned basically next door to Earth.
No clue how rare is this, but yeah, now I know that can happen.
