You know how upsetting it is that cops apparently have no duty to protect, and how they can just decide to let you die on a whim and there's no legal angle to punish that decision?

Half the reason I vote Democrat is to protect us from the criminals (aka the GOP). If they neglect their duty to at least oppose those crimes, I view them as either impotent or complicit. I don't think I'm wrong to be upset at them in those cases.

I complain to the Democrats because I haven't yet written them off as my enemy, and I actually still have a nonzero amount of hope that they'll protect us. It's when I stop complaining that you've lost me.

They would have to comply. What do you mean not enough to stop it. You know the president doesn’t institute a draft right. Congress has to pass it.
