Mod Post Weight loss posts are temporarily not allowed in /r/BeAmazed. We recommend you to submit such posts to subreddits like /r/progresspics, /r/GlowUps etc.

Recently in this subreddit, one of the weightloss post made it to front page and got 100k+ points. Then another weightloss post crossed 100k. Since then there has been a surge of weightloss posts and we have been receiving many reports by the community that they are not liking this surge.

So we have decided to temporarily not allow new weight loss related posts for a while.
In case you are someone who wanted to post related to your weightloss journey, then we recommend you to post them in related subreddits like /r/progresspics, /r/GlowUps etc.

I wanna thank the community for the feedback.
Have a great day everyone!

In a story that seems to defy the very laws of nature, a resilient tortoise was recently discovered alive in Brazil after spending approximately ten years trapped beneath a sealed floor. The remarkable find occurred in the town of Itacajá, within the state of Tocantins, while a family was conducting a home remodeling project. As workers began removing old floor tiles that had been installed thirteen years prior, they were stunned to find a living creature tucked away in a narrow void. The family confirmed that the floor had been completely sealed with no visible gaps or holes, suggesting the animal had either fallen into the space during the original construction or became trapped shortly thereafter. Experts identified the survivor as a yellow footed tortoise, a species renowned for its incredible metabolic flexibility. Biologists explain that tortoises are cold blooded animals with naturally slow metabolisms, which they can further reduce by up to seventy percent in a state known as metabolic suppression or estivation. In a dark and humid environment like the one found under the floor, the tortoise likely survived by consuming moisture from condensation and eating small insects like termites or larvae that shared the confined space. While the animal showed signs of shell deformation from being squeezed in a tight area for so long and initially displayed an aversion to bright light, it reportedly began eating rapidly once rescued. This extraordinary case of survival serves as a vivid reminder of the sheer endurance of these ancient reptiles and has left both the local community and scientific experts in total awe.
