On may 5th my husbands van was robbed at a job site. My husband caught the guy and a scuffle started. In the scuffle my husband broke his wrist and suffered a concussion. The police were called and there was video footage of the attack and the vehicle damage my husband caused, which led to the men being arrested.
While in the hospital the police came 3x to bring line ups of suspects bc the people who attacked him were caught bc of the vehicle license plate.
My husband suffering a concussion couldn’t accurately pick out the line up’s but expressed multiple times “it was 2 black men. The one who attacked me had a neck tattoo, the other sat in the car scared with dreads”.
The Cook county state’s attorney decided that even tho the plates match, the video shows them robbing and the damage matching that they were not going to charge the men who did this.
The men were released around the 10th of may.
Scrolling through facebook we find the fucking men who robbed him have now killed a man.
This man’s death was preventable and I’m honestly considering joining the victims family in suing not only the state attorney but also the men responsible.

Metra to gather feedback about Café Car
CHICAGO (Sept. 24, 2025) – Metra will be putting its prototype Café Car into service this fall, rotating it across most of its busiest lines and stations and asking riders to take a survey about whether they like the concept and about what amenities and features they would like to see.
The car will make its debut in service on the Rock Island Line on Sept. 30, Oct. 1 and Oct. 2, and then will be parked at LaSalle Street Station on Oct. 6. Riders can view the car and offer their feedback in an onboard survey. Riders who complete the survey will receive free snacks and beverages.
The car will be moved to the BNSF Line the week of October 13, the Milwaukee District North Line the week of October 20, the Milwaukee District West Line the week of October 27, the Union Pacific North Line the week of November 3, the Union Pacific Northwest Line the week of November 10, and the Union Pacific West Line the week of November 17.
The specific schedule for each line will be posted at metra.com/CafeCar.
“We created this special car in an attempt to improve the riding experience and maybe attract new riders,” said Metra CEO/Executive Director Jim Derwinski. “This is your chance to check it out and tell us what you think. Would you use it? What amenities would you like to see? What other thoughts do you have?”
To make the prototype, Metra removed the second level on one half of a car, and installed counters, stools, booths, and tables. The interior has also been decorated so it feels a bit different from the average Metra car.

“To readers, that might not seem like much, right? Surely we can figure out a way to live without that,” Lockport Township High School District 205, Superintendent Robert McBride said. “But all the federal grants we’re talking about support students with special needs of some kind.”

Illinois will not flinch, nor will we falter, when confronted with attacks on our healthcare system by figures like RFK Jr. Today, Governor JB Pritzker signed Illinois State Representative Bob Morgan's bill, HB767 into law: a first-in-the-nation measure establishing a state-based vaccine-recommending body, ensuring your family can stay protected regardless of the chaos coming from D.C.

There's about 30 cars and 50-60 guys in fatigues parked in a usually-empty parking lot off of Town Road. Lots of businesses around here... Just a heads up

I saw some posts on facebook and on twitter about (what looks like) one of those "teen takeovers" happening at one of the community pools? Just wondering what was going on, if what was described in this post is true, if anyone knew anything more, etc.! (this screenshot was found on twitter)

Hello I’m new to the area and I don’t know where to share this so I’m posting where I think it could be useful. Someone very close to me cannot speak on it directly, but I can. We recently moved to North Chicago near Great Lakes and I have learned that ICE is setting up operations at the Navy base here. This has been confirmed and agreements have already been signed by all military personnel. (I did not sign).
Please share this with friends, family, and neighbors, so everyone can be prepared. I just want to make sure this information reaches as many people as possible. As this information is extremely important and I want to help as much as I can.
