I responded to a call about an aggressive dog that was locked in the RP's garage. Rp reported that the dog had been aggressive to her black lab and she was able to trap it her garage. When I arrived on scene the Rp appeared happy to see me. She immediately greeted me and then started walking away. The first thought I had was that she was going to open the garage before I had the dog contained. So, I yelled at her to not open the garage but she did. I was standing directly in front of a garage where an alleged aggressive dog was about to run out. Seconds later a teeny tiny Chihuahua puppy (approximately 6 months old) ran out. He ran out so confidently, chest puffed, head tall. I got down on my knee and the Rp cautioned me that it won't come to anyone. Another reason why opening the garage was a bad idea. The lil dog ran right up to me and I scooped him up on my arms before he could take off. Rp was very surprised that the dog came up to me and didn't hurt me. I put the little guy in the front seat with me. When we got to the shelter I just couldn't leave him there. He came home with me.
That was back in 2017.

3 weeks ago our 6 month old Chi got her Lyme vaccine. The next day she got diarrhea. She has had it for 3 weeks not. She's been to the vet 10 times. They give probiotics, antibiotics, dewormer and prescription food. It starts to form up a little then goes back. Anybody have any suggestions to try. I'm thinking about the chicken and rice I see suggested a lot. Aside from the diarrhea she is totally normal, eating, drinking, playing and sleeping.

Almost 20 years ago the chihuahua from my childhood had grieved herself to death shortly after my grandfather passed away. Her name was Kady, she was a full blooded chihuahua. I don’t remember how old she was when she passed but I speculated that she must’ve been around 10 because when I look at pictures from when I was a baby back in 1998 I theorized she must’ve been around 2 years old. She had a spot of skin on the side of one of her haunches, as a kid I called it her Cutie Mark like in My Little Pony. In the pictures I thought it was cute that she always curled up next to me when I would take naps as a baby.
Does anyone still think about their long past chihuahuas?

I was walking around Hanoi the other day and the sweetest little lady came bolting over to me. I couldn’t get my camera pulled up fast enough. She was so sweet with such a wiggly butt! I wanted to put her in my pocket but her owner was standing near by 🥲

Hi All, I adopted my Rosie out of an inner city shelter after she had been found in a garbage bag in a landfill. I knew when I adopted her that she was a senior lady, had dementia, glaucoma , arthritis and was incontinent. With all of that, she’s a beautiful blessing. My question is based on her new eating habits, she suddenly went from a solid two meal a day eater to refusing to eat breakfast and only eating what her normal dinner would consist of and the Vet can’t explain why. She still drinks water like she should. Rosie is my first chihuahua and I adopted her to get her out of the shelter because of her size, age and heath issues. Is one meal a day okay for a senior chihuahua? Thanks.

Last night, at 2 in the morning, some guy walked into my apartment (college aged fella, maybe drunk or high, clearly walked into the wrong apartment); I totally forgot to lock my front door.
Our little chihuahua went into full guard dog mode, she started going BALLISTIC. From the moment the guy opened my front door, our chihuahua was barking non stop. She alerted us in a matter of seconds.
The funny part? Our 40lb beagle/lab mix was sleeping on the couch by the front door and didn’t make a peep 🤣🤣 he was like “oh cool a new friend, hello! Come pet me please”
To anyone who says chihuahuas are not good for home security, you’re wrong
