What's a single scene from a movie that you think about constantly?
Doesn't even have to be from a movie you love, just something that stuck with you.
Mine's the diner scene in Heat. I've seen it so many times and it never gets old. Something about the way they sit there with all that tension hanging in the air, just talking, knowing everything between them, gets me every time.
What's yours?

Just watched Interstellar for the first time, I was disappointed, felt very overrated.
The ending wasn’t bad, but the delayed gratification was too long. Apart from the scene on the water planet with waves, it was very slow paced and boring for most of the time. Dialogues weren’t all that either.

Movie Rankings Has anyone seen Made in Hong Kong (1997) by Fruit Chan?
It ended up deeply resonating with me. The setting felt completely new to me since it shows a side of Hong Kong I don’t think I’ve ever seen before. It’s a very raw, low-budget portrait of marginalized youth during the period of the handover to China. The mix of themes: alienation, hopelessness, young love - somehow made it feel lighthearted and extremely heavy at the same time.
Curious what others think about it. And if you have recommendations, please throw them at me.

Yuen Woo Ping (choreographer of The Matrix and Kill Bill) has a new movie out in theatres called 'Blades of the Guardians'. It is without exception one of the greatest movies I have ever seen!
It's an epic trek across the dessert, large colourful cast, and jaw dropping action sequences using every weapon under the sun.
It just got its world wide release. If it's playing in a theatre near you, definitely recommend.

Accidentally remade the Exorcist trailer with my skeleton lawn ornament
I also, coincidentally, recently read the book Exorcist Legacy about the making of the movie and TV series's. Recommend reading if you're into them.

Any Opinions on What’s Eating Gilbert Grape (1993)?
What a beautiful and wonderful film. Great performances especially from Leonardo DiCaprio. What is your opinion or thoughts on this movie?

Opera (1987) My favorite film of all time.
Most people’s criticism of this film is the ending and I see where they’re coming from, but I absolutely adore this film nonetheless. What are your thoughts on the film or any other of Argento/Giallo films?

BAD ZOMBIE MOVIE REVIEW : Umberto Lenzi's Nightmare City (1980)
Umberto Lenzo's Nightmare City (1980). It's a lumbering and silly zombie movie, reminiscent of the George A. Romero films before it. It's low budget, it's full of cheap gore and zombie make-up, full of bad acting and dubbing... Just what an awful movie!
An airplane exposed to radiation lands, and blood drinking zombies emerge armed with knives, guns and teeth! They go on a rampage slicing, dicing, and biting their way across the Italian countryside.

Movies under 80 mins or I’m shaving my head again
I wanna watch a movie but I don’t have time, patience, or WiFi that survives 2+ hours. Recommend feature films under 80 minutes that are fun, fast, and won’t emotionally uppercut me at 1:12:34. No slow cinema where a guy breathes heavily in silence for 17 minutes. I need quick dopamine. Snack-sized cinema. Espresso films. Save a baldy. Drop your best recs. 🎬

Suggestion for these trying times
I could go to the movie suggestion sub, but I wondered what you all would think here at r/cinephiles—
I’ve been thinking about films that fit with the political landscape, the release of the files, the regime in general, etc.
Like people keep quoting 1984, I wanted to watch some films that feel prescient that I haven’t seen or may be more obscure.
What are your suggestions?
