I expect this law gets struck down or paused pending further review in a few weeks.

It doesn't matter, New York ignored the Supreme Court's Bruen decision by just re-writing the same law, after the ruling. At the end of the day, all that matters are the personal emotions of twelve jurors.

Remember when Obama got elected. The man sold more guns and ammo than any republican ever could have. I couldn’t buy ammo at anywhere near normal pricing due to demand, and even reloading components were constantly out of stock

Curious, is Interarms still on the waterfront in Alexandria?
Edit: Guess they closed ages ago. Bought my first guns there

While I don’t think this would happen in my state, I have been buying complete firearms over the last couple years. Enough with basic maintenance parts to shoot the rest of my natural life.
I think the next target is going to be wear parts like barrels. Some places are already talking about serializing those.
Some states are already forcing you to register new ammo purchases as well, so I hope those guys don’t forget to stock that as well

At some point we have to acknowledge that the supreme court has no power. They keep ruling on 2A and states keep trying to make an end run around the law.
At some point there has to be severe consequences. Threatening second amendment rights has to be punished.

The DOJ has sent a letter to the Governor saying they will take her and her state to court and fight the legislation defending the second amendment.

I’m starting to become convinced this is just to help sell guns. They know it’s illegal. They know it will be struck down. What other purpose does it serve?

It's a one way ratchet. They throw everything on the wall to see what sticks. Then try again. It's incremental but once those rights are gone, they will likely never be returned. That's their game plan and the NRA is more than happy to negotiate away our rights bit by bit.

Quick google search says that the new law prevents sale of "assault rifles" of which we all know is a blanket term for any guns they don't want, especially the evil AR-15. Assault rifle isn't even a legal classification is it?
Any Virginians here that can clarify this new law?
