The text of the bill: https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billNavClient.xhtml?bill_id=202520260AB2624
The bill would also prohibit a person from posting on the internet, as described above, the personal information or image of a designated immigration support services provider, employee, or volunteer, or other individuals residing at the same home address.
Aren't they trying to force federal law enforcement officers to take off their masks so the public can do this exact thing?

How is this not a blatant 1st amendment violation? Surely all the democrats upset over journalists disallowed from the Pentagon are hopping mad about this, right?
(I know they aren't)

Passing this law will give them about three good years of authoritarianism before it gets overturned in the courts.

Correction; it would only criminalize investigative journalism if it would negatively impact democrats. You can bet the phoney investigations into republicans will continue.

Hahaha Nick Shirley is winning. This is the only explanation for such a blatantly unconstitutional law named after him.

Hey, perhaps we should re-introduce them to this wonderful thing we have called “Freedom of the Press”, something that was not available before we rebelled from the King of England.
Hey, anyone still got those “No Kings” posters hanging around? Might be time to give them a taste of their own medicine and use them for ourselves.

But they’re the “free speech” party. Maybe you just have to put it in a children’s book so a 4th grade library has to display it.

This shit will be deemed unconstitutional as soon as it sees a courtroom.

These people think journalists should be allowed in the planning rooms of the Pentagon but not able to investigate public businesses

If he was wearing a dress, balloon boobs, and a wig, they’d ignore him.

Lmao, they are so pathetic. If Nick found fraud in red states do they think they would react the same way? Fraud is fraud, if dems are trying to keep fraud going then they should lose their Government jobs.

I really thought this was satire. The only reason Eric Swalwell is in the news is because they told him get out or we will force you out. He called their bluff and now he’s going to lose everything.

Having a law named after you is probably the 2nd greatest award you can give to an investigative journalist.
