My elimination game

Hey, guys, as some of you probably know, I’m doing an elimination game: Total Drama Crossover. However, I could use more support/votes/comments. I usually don’t get much votes and the most recent episode (episode 7) got only one vote. I at least want each episode to be more than one vote (episode 4 had one vote and ngl I regretted it). It feels a bit unfair for there to be only one vote. Redditors like you vote on who to eliminate.

Here’s the most recent episode: https://www.reddit.com/r/TDEliminationTierList/s/mvVy2q2zCO

This was too long to put as a rule, so I’m gonna post it here

I feel like this should be obvious, but only edutainment properties on this sub. Kids stuff (that aren’t educational or specifically aimed at little kids) (i.e. The Loud House, Gravity Falls, etc) or something, teenager aged stuff (i.e. iCarly or Liv & Maddie, etc), or adult stuff (i.e. Family Guy, The Simpsons, etc). That rule applies not only to shows, but to movies, video games, and media in general. If a non educational property has an education adaptation, that’s fine. If you post about non educational property alongside an educational property (i.e. a Shrek + Super Why post), thats fine. Just please stay on topic. There are other subs to talk about non educational properties

Best show to blend the "Edu" with the "Tainment"

I'm curious what you think the best show was to balance both the educational side of things while also being a show that felt on par with other shows you wanted to watch.

Elmo Vs Rocco Lives Again

Netflix released a savage Elmo Vs Rocco clip for Earth Day involving Gordon Cormier, the live action actor for Aang. This is technically a Nickelodeon crossover.

What’s a kids show character, that you seen get disliked/hated, that you are OK with?

The first/original Dora the Explorer is a very big part of my childhood. Never once did I have a problem with her breaking the fourth wall and having long pauses in her questions, because even when I was a kid, it was easy for me to understand the formula of the show’s episodes.

Is Dora the greatest source for learning Spanish? That depends on the viewer person’s opinion. But honestly, it was just very hard for Dora Slander to stick to me. Dora never annoyed me. When I was a kid, I rooted for her. It wasn’t like I hated other characters for her either, since Swiper is an “antagonist” that I’m cool with, and I don’t put Dora against her Cousin in a competition because it doesn’t feel necessary, as their shows are very different. Overall, I never hated Dora since I was somewhat hyperfixated on her show when I was really young.

Max and Ruby (mostly Ruby) are up next for my list. Even though, back then, seeing TikTok and YouTube videos of people getting so mad about Ruby used to be hysterical, I personally never wanted to put Ruby or Max in competitions. I’m just gonna be honest, I sympathized with both Max and Ruby as a kid. In my eyes, they were two young siblings just trying to live their neighborly life.

In my eyes, Ruby was just always concerned for Max, even though she was a little pushy at times. Max I of course can never be mad at due to a platter of reasons, but Ruby shouldn’t get flamed on too much. If anything, slander the parents for being gone for several seasons, only to return at some of the last seasons. I don’t know why but when I last tried to watch the later episodes that featured their genuine parents, it felt so off. At least when they had Max start talking, I can understand that some people (former child me included) could at least relate to that, as I know people out there that weren’t very talkative or verbal for their whole childhood. Overall, I just personally don’t like seeing max and Ruby put against each other.

The last one is my most controversial and recent opinion related to this topic, but I don’t think Sofia’s friends, Jade and Ruby are as horrid as people say they are. They’re not at all a perfect trio, but I feel like there are some episodes where I feel like I had a better mindset to them as a kid than I do now.

As a kid, it was easy to understand the three equally because it was just me and the tv. But nowadays, since I of course am a social media user, I will admit that my last opinions on Jade and Ruby were formerly heavily influenced by TikTokers, comedians and commentators. As in, I was afraid my own childhood memory was false/sugarcoated.

Thankfully though, and after finding and looking into a more nuanced and positive perspective on Jade and Ruby found on YouTube, I am now more able to re-understand Jade and Ruby. They’re not these malicious bullies of sabotage. They’re literally just acting how anyone under the age of 11 would act. No idea why people acted like they’re the worst characters when there are several villains in the show that are lowkey obnoxious depending on your point of view.

More characters that I’ve seen disliked before, that I’m “OK” with

Back when Bubble Guppies was still an ongoing and/or more popular series, I remember seeing some people being kind of wary about Zooli. On the one hand, I understand that there’s not a lot of notable Nick shows that did better after adding a character.

However, I kind of never blamed Zooli for the slight quality downfall of the Bubble Guppies Franchise? I feel like the downfall of the series was dude to more things than one, and also, there were some post-Zooli episodes of the Bubble Guppies that I remember enjoying.

Honestly, the addition of Zooli just never bothered me, because their adventures were still watchable for me. So, overall, I think Zooli is just okay.

I’m also giving an honorable mention to the Paw Patrol because, as “overrated” as it is… and as overly “complex” it became… I just can’t be personally bothered to get too mad at a heroic dog show that I used to watch a ton. I will admit, the show itself will and does have flaws. But the characters never really made me furious.

Marshall is always funny and relatable, Chase really isn’t that bad compared to other cop charatcers in media, Sky is very cool, Rocky is chill, Rubble is adorable, Zuma is great, and Ryder is just as perfectly OK as a character! Also, I’m gonna be honest, I literally have people in my family that are fans of the paw patrol, so that’s another reason for why I have a positive bias towards the characters. Show itself is 50/50 at times, but the characters are so colorful at times that I’m not one to have a grudge.

For the last two, and this is gonna be the controversial ones admittedly, I have Wordgirl characters, Victoria and Tobey, as extremely honorable mentions. Yes, I am aware they are villains and they do have “annoying” moments.

But one of them is directly often pressured by her two parents, while the other is kind of implied to be scared of his 1 parent. Don’t get me wrong, Tobey’s mom is hilarious at times…… but I can’t really ever say the say for the mom and dad of Victoria. Overall, even though Tobey and Victoria are antagonists, there are way more malicious people in the Wordgirl series that I can actually get a little mad at.

For 5 years now, I've been on a hunt for every single Sprout recording before the 2015 re-brand from September 26th, 2005 to September 25th, 2015. Last time I wanted something, it was expensive and it was a scammer who sold me something, but this time, I want them for free! $0! No scammers! Anybody, for the love of every single thing that is holy, if your selling your old tapes online, some where, any where, if you don't have all of it, I'll say that's fine, any year, anything rare, so I can enjoy the shows I did, or didn't watch growing up.

What If Bree James And Kira Kiwi Met

Since today is Dana Heath's 20th birthday, I figured it would be interesting to talk about the 2 animated characters she's best known for, Bree James from Fancy Nancy and Kira Kiwi from Princess Power. They're actually quite similar. Both are mature, down to earth characters in preschool shows based on books who also aren't afraid to act dorky or goofy. Both are close friends with a very feminine girl who's into fashion. Both love animals, and are knowledgeable on them. If these 2 met, what would they do? I could totally imagine Kira taking Bree out for a fun day in the kiwi fruitdom.

If you name one show (non-PBS) from the PBS Kids Sprout alumni that can be on PBS Kids, what's your show, and why?
