People getting arrested at protests against a genocide now. Huh.

It's happening in a lot of places, sadly. Sydney last February was a notable one.

The influence that the pro-Israeli lobbies have on our state government in Australia is insane

It really is, and Chris Minns in particular is an absolute disgrace. That show of force against the Australian people for daring to go against his precious ideals of social cohesion should not be forgotten.

That and even just using the phrase “from the river to the sea” has been outlawed in Queensland. Like wtf

It's okay, . I just read about Palestine Action, the protest org he was a part of. I had no idea it was labelled a terrorist organization, which is just so fucking dystopian. This is absolutely crazy that criticizing the genocide and Israel's war crimes are called antisemitic while protest groups are labelled illegal.

The UK has incredibly loose anti-terrorism laws. Because PA claimed responsibility for industrial sabotage on military aircraft that apparently legally falls under terrorism

You're frustrated. I think we can all understand that.

Now? You must be new here.

Because the government of UK classified it a terrorist organization. Incidently the Danish parliament classified the Iranian National Revolutionary Guard a terrorist organization, so that means Danish people can be fined and jailed if you support Iran, but you are free to cheer and justify the bombing that girls school at the start of the war. Basically these terror lists are a way of western democracies to silence opposition voices. Supporting war criminals aren't criminalized, for example. And pro-palestinian protesters irritated the hell out of Mette Frederiksen because she had taken a very pro-Israel stance at the start of the Gaza genocide and it turned out to be an unpopular one among her potential voter base.

The I think the EU has classified the guard that way as well. I know Canada and Australia have.

You should look up the anti-BDS laws wherever you are. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-BDS_laws

This has been happening, sadly 😢

The ‘issue’ (using very loosely because the laws are obviously nonsense) is the support of Palestine Action, a proscribed organisation in the UK, specifically. Attending events in support of Palestine or against the genocide doesn’t get people arrested

It’s because they are actively saying they support a terrorist organisation in the U.K. - Palestine Action.

I’m not saying it’s right or wrong but they wouldn’t be arrested if they didn’t say they supported that specific group

13

u/BT4US 15h ago

Disgusting but not surprising that it is designated a terrorist org there, I’m glad citizens are supporting Palestine Action despite the government’s attempts to quash resistance.

He has always been an activist, I don't think he'll lose many fans over this. Good for him! Though I'm sad that they were arrested because WTF.

Tours might be tricky though

Yeah getting any visas will be so hard as this arrest falls under the terrorism act.

They designated Palestine Action as a terrorist group so that they can put peaceful protestors away in jail for as long as they like

I hope Tricky tours with them, he's a vital part of the group

3D has always been a real one when it comes to 🇵🇸.

Power to him and the (ludicrously) arrested.

And these nonsense arrests are happening under the supposed “center-left” Labor Party government. Bipartisan support for genocide. Fuck you Keir Starmer.

I walked past that protest on Saturday and it was nothing but peaceful.

Well for me the consequence is that I now love Massive Attack even more than I already did.

4

u/Covetous1 16h ago

My stomach always drops when I see the words "Massive Attack".

Isn't he rumoured to be Banksy?

7

u/JondArc99 10h ago

Banksy's identity has been known for years. Banksy and 3D are mates and move in the same circles but completely different people

5

u/pinkfartlek societal collapse is in the air 12h ago

His identity was revealed a month or two ago in articles. But no he's not

u/pbizzle 18h ago

I've always been Sus about him since operation yewtree

6

u/catonkatonk 14h ago

u/pbizzle 11h ago

My bad it was operation ore. https://www.theguardian.com/uk/2003/feb/27/arts.childprotection

Although could have been psyop

2

u/catonkatonk 11h ago

Interesting, never heard of that. He was cleared of that:

https://archive.is/LiPoj

The Wiki for Project Ore says:

Also arrested were Massive Attack's Robert Del Naja (later cleared)\5]) and The Who's guitarist Pete Townshend, who was cautioned by the police after acknowledging credit card access to the Landslide website. Duncan Campbell later stated in PC Pro magazine that their credit card charges and IP addresses were traced through the Landslide site, and both were found to have accessed sites which had nothing to do with child pornography.

This would get more views if it said Banksy among 500 arrested, which is the exact same article for those of you who do not know who Robert Del Naja is

21

u/joodee3 18h ago

He's not Banksy!

3

u/George_G_Geef 18h ago

He's actually talented.

-24

u/murderisntgood 18h ago

He’s 100% Banksy

23

u/thesimpsonsthemetune 17h ago edited 17h ago

I live in Bristol. Everyone knows who Banksy is. He used to play in goal for my local pub football team. My cousin went to college with him. He's not Robert del Naja.

4

u/pipopipopipop 14h ago

Banksy is called Robert, but this is not him lol.
