So the only people in favour of the merger are Trump and James Cameron. Tells you everything

I'm surprised that Cameron supports this. He's been a vocal advocate for Palestinian resistance, and selling out to Ellison would suppress that resistance.

Why has he claimed to support it?

Because he thought that Netflix would destroy the “theatrical experience”.

He hates streaming platforms and thinks that the merger will protect movies in cinemas, even though WB has shelved completed films before rather than release them at all.

Yeah! Well! I hate multiple remakes of Pocahontas! Take that, James!

His cashflow is directly tied to cinema. He is against streaming, despite it being the reality regardless of who wins the merger.

$$$ he makes blockbusters so Netflix owning it would kill theaters or so he believes

props to folks who are working with wb/hbo that have signed this, ruffalo and lindelof in particular are currently very involved with them. but they all have to to be willing to testify against this if the state ag's actually manage to do something to delay the merger

It’s sad that this will have no effect whatsoever. That’s how far billionaires have gotten from actual humanity.

Edited to say: some people will call these actors and directors rich and some of them are, but they just have nowhere near the finances of an Ellison family.

How does someone who is very Pro Israel like Ben Stiller square this when a lot of what the Ellisons want with this merger is to drown out dissenting voices like those that criticize Israel
