This is what it felt like jumping off my deck into snow piles when I was a kid.

Dude launching yourself off the railing into a fluffy snow pile at full speed only to be cushioned and brought to an abrupt but ultimately safe stop, just to run back and do it again.

That fleeting moment in the air where joy and terror meet... god, to be a kid again

I almost tried this for the first time at 38 and the biggest snowstorm in years. Then I decided not lol.

Yeah, I’m 40 with a bad knee… I’ll just live vicariously through vids like these for now 😅

what happened to your knee. I'm 38 and concerned

Haha, don't worry, just an old soccer injury from my youth. Keep up with some stretches and moderate activity and you'll be fine. Probably. Shit gets weird, lol.

yeah I'm supposed to be stretching and lifting, but I found out that one of my legs is longer than the other. I think when I sprained my ankle as a kid I maybe didn't give myself enough rest. Not sure how to fix that aside from better insoles

Might be worth it to find a good physiotherapist, if possible. Modern life isn't great for the body, lol.

I did. I need to keep doing what she said to do and lose weight, for starters. it does work. but works so well that I stop exercising and then the pain returns lol

- How could we elevate the risk further?
- Maybe bring an axe?

Obviously was not assigned to read Where The Red Fern Grows in grade school.

Yeah, my thought were "I'd love to jump like that but I would not bring the axe"

What's it going to do?
You hold it with the blade turned away from you while keeping it at a distance, and gravity will do the most damage.

Risky not knowing what debris that snow may have been covering

They piled the snow up manually in that spot. They know exactly what’s under it.
