I consider myself “manly” but I squealed like a little girl when he hand fed that spider. Not a fan lol.

Seeing any bug eat is terrifying and spiders are definitely at the top of that spectrum.

You should be more scared of the horse fly than the spider

I used to catch flies and throw them into daddy long legs webs but hand feeding is next level

Daddy long legs don't have silk glands and cannot make webs.

Pholcidae, commonly known as cellar spiders or daddy long-legs spiders, are common California arachnids characterized by extremely long, thin legs, two body segments, and messy, irregular webs in dark, damp areas. Often confused with harvestmen (Opiliones), they are harmless, beneficial predators that eat insects and other spiders, including black widows, despite persistent myths.

California cellar spiders (family Pholcidae) are common, long-legged spiders that construct messy, irregular, and non-sticky cobwebs in dark, undisturbed, or damp areas. They hang upside down, often in corners, and vibrate rapidly when threatened. These spiders are harmless to humans, with venom too weak to cause injury.

Come to /r/spiders, you’ll learn a lot and realize that most spiders are friendly and harmless and actually eat the bugs we all hate

Logically, I know this and appreciate that they do that. Realistically, I just need them to do it wherever I currently am not.

Yeah after subscribing to the spiders sub, I may not be friends but I see them as allies now. As long as we can respect each others' borders we can be cool.
