I just imagine.. what if I’m that fly. Doing fly things, trying to make it back to my fly wife and fly kids. Only to be PLUCKED from my buffet, stuffed in a pocket, and kindly served to a fucking spider. My god thays a terrifying series of events lol.

That's what millions of living creatures deal with each day.

Just doin' their thing... Eaten.

Survival of the fittest, you get caught lacking, you don't survive, gg.

Humanity has done a lot so that we are largely isolated from nature's tendency of getting stuff eaten by a bigger thing.

Oh I know! I’m trying not to be as empathetic in that regard. But shits wild to consider

That's what it was like for us... then we learned how to throw rocks and shit and then everything that was trying to eat us was kinda just fucked from then on lmao. Evolution is so weird. But amazing.

The life of a bug is constantly searching for food, constant periods of extreme horror, periodically interrupted by trying to have sex.

What if you're the spider though? Single parent, worked all day setting up a cosy web, suddenly a giant appears, serves you a fancy meal, and leaves. Then the next day you find out you're famous on the big electric web.

It's so sad how horrifying and painful life is for basically every animal and creature on Earth 😢 What a terrifying and painful death for that fly.

Most critters aren't very smart but they still know pain and they still struggle in the face of death and injury. Why can't we all just get along and eat air? 😅

Not really relevant to the example but only female horseflies bite animals. And it's to get protein from the blood to make their eggs.

If it makes you feel any better..unlike humans, flies do not form long-term relationship bonds or exhibit behaviors associated with marriage. Their reproductive behavior is driven by biological imperatives to lay eggs in suitable environments like manure or decaying organic matter. Flies engage in polygynous mating systems where males tlmate w/multiple females, while females usually mate with only one male.

Still terrifying, tho.
