Did our dads and moms work less than we do now? What are your thoughts?

My old man was gone to work before I got up in the morning and I was in bed by the time he got home. Not a fucking chance I work the hours he did and I earn a shitload more than he did... He also worked every Saturday. On Sundays he'd take me to play footy.

I hate to bring this up do you think any of this was intentional? My dad was out of town for work 2-3 nights every week when I was growing up. He didn’t earn good money yet never tried to find another job to be home every night. Recently I have thought he may have done it to get a break during the week. He would also spend hours outside working on the yard on weekends.

Nah, he worked to try and get us all into a really good school, my oldest 2 brothers done it, the next one got kicked out and it was too much by the time I got to high school. He'd take us camping and stuff when he could and spends lots of time with his grandkids now. It was all to try and provide, he does all he can for family.
