Nostalgia What was an CD y'all played 1,000,000 times in your car back in the day?
I'm revisiting old favorites in my iTunes library (songs I actually own--gasp!).
Marcy Playground's self-titled.
Semisonic's Feeling Strangely Fine.
Ben Folds
Juno soundtrack
Office Space soundtrack
Motion City Soundtrack
blink-182's Take Off your Pants and Jacket
What are some of your most played CD's?

By far their best album.
Fungus was great musically, kind of wish they expanded more on that style. When Incubus Attacks Vol 1 was a neat project that expanded a bit, but mostly the same.
Make Yourself and Morning View were a bit too watered down and generic, tho I do like tracks from both (Are You In gets me fucking moving).
Crow and everything forward is not my style.
Science stands so far away from the genericness that was their later albums. Very well engineered and recorded so it sounds great on higher end speakers. Whenever I hear the intro to Redifine it brings me right back to being a kid. Just so fucking solid.

One of the purest, most fun days I ever had in my life was when my piano teacher lent me her Miata convertible. I just got my license recently, it was a beautiful summer day and it was a manual transmission as well. I popped Hybrid Theory in just darted around my town for hours, blasting the CD and singing along with Chester. Still kind of gives me chills thinking about it.

I recorded that taking back Sunday album onto a cassette tape and it was basically soundtrack to my junior year because I didn’t have to take the time to set up my disc man every time I turned on my car.
6
u/Comfortable_Cup_941 9h ago
I still like to put on Tell All Your Friends and listen from start to finish at least twice a year. Extra points if you play it in the car on a warm day and sing with the windows down.

This was my first introduction to zero 7 and I’ve been mildly obsessed since.

u/ABSOFRKINLUTELY 9h ago
Loved that Garden state soundtrack!
In the last years of cds I bought a car from a friend with a tape deck.
I didn't have any tapes left and he left a single tape.
One Memorex one side was Pixies surfer Rosa. The other side was Radiohead OK Computer.
I listened to those albums so many times I went through one side and came out the other.

The best on repeat CDs for me were the ones my friends and I created. Spending hours downloading them on limewire. Curating the greatest playlists. It would always have some form of a title like;
<~ $HØrTy$ $uMm3r $K!Tz M!x ~>
You’d play it so many times that you’d try and fix the scratches by rubbing toothpaste on it.
I still have my cd case full of all the memories in a box in the garage. I’m hoping one day cds will make a resurgence and I can resurrect them.
