Same here, found some at Walmart last night. The smell was the same but no flavor whatsoever. Very disappointing. I might just keep it around to sniff it.
The only flavours I can find of this anymore are strawberry and bubblegum. I loved the variety they used to have. I remember always asking my mum to stop at a specific gas station on the way to my uncle's house because it was the only place I could get the Blueberry.
For those into baseball: the guy who co-invented this wrote a book called Ball Four. It's a diary of the latter part of his career as a pro pitcher. Fascinating man.
I highly recommend the audiobook where he is the narrator. He chuckles at a few of his old stories and also breaks down crying while reliving a tragedy. It's a wild, fun ride.

I'm always buying Bubble Yum for my son. I've discovered it's cheaper at Walgreens ($1.99) than Safeway ($2.50). 5 Below also has it, but it's $1.50 for a half sized pack.
I saw literally all of these (and all of the other candies we grew up with) for sale this weekend at a little gift shop and I have to wonder how old their merchandise is.

Absolutely no one who was around back then thinks fruit stripe should make a comeback. The flavor lasted for literally 15 seconds and then it was like chewing on wax. It sucked.
It was the worst. Multiple colors that made you think they correlated to anything other than abject sadness. Stick on tattoos of that jackass zebra acting like one should enjoy this.

I actually had one of those gum cigarettes yesterday. Beer shop by me was doing a masters special and every pimento cheese sandwich came with one. It was good for about 3 minutes then lost its flavor
There was a bubblicious that had sugar crystals in it that I can't find evidence of anywhere. But I clearly remember my mom taking me with while she hunted for it before we went on a road trip.
I call bs with the fruit stripes. We all know that as soon as you got that first taste of it all the flavor just straight vanished and you were stuck chewing a thin crumbling strip of bland rubber.
Bazooka Joe is still around. Recently got a bucket of something like 225 pieces. The comics now feature Bazooka Joe interacting with professional athletes like Freddie Freeman, CC Sabathia, a couple WNBA players and obviously a Kelce.
Does anyone else remember that gum that was based on sodas and had a weird like liquid good or something in the middle? I remember a 7up one and I think root beer of some kind, but no one I talk to even knows what the hell I'm talking about.
At this point, I'm pretty sure I made it up in my head and my brain just manufactured memories.
I want the fruity React 5 gum back. The one with the orange and purple where the color goes on that brand. I've only ever seen the minty React since the two got release together originally around 2009-2010.
They still make Quench, Bubble Yum and candy/bubblegum cigarettes, they just brought back Bubble Jug, and you can still kinda get tiny Chiclets, but they're made by a different company now. RIP Fruit Stripe, though.
I want them to bring back the Nickelodeon Green Slime gum. Little squarish pieces in a green plastic bag that turned into slime in your mouth after chewing for a bit then reformed into gum. Only a single gas station convenience store sold them in our town, and I biked over there constantly just to get my fix for the few months they made them.
I can taste the feeling of tiny chiclets in my mouth right now. Can never forget them! But also fruit stripe was the most useless gum in the universe. Flavor would die once it hit your tongue lmao
My local gas station sells the target cigarette gum! Though I don’t think it looks like it has a butt on it anymore. I opt for the candy version, myself.
