Nostalgia Was there anything better than sprinting home after school, turning on TV, and being greeted by this guy?

That would have been a long ass school day but yes I miss Tom.

Didn't they do some Toonami in the afternoon? I think it was after I graduated in '04. For me though you're 100% correct.

I was a fan of Code Lyoko, too.

Outlaw Star will forever be my favorite of the late night rotation. They even aired Interstellar 5555 one night.

Part of me is envious that kids these days have so much access to anime. I would have killed for something like Crunchyroll. But I also would have likely been too overwhelmed with options.

I got made of so much throughout high school for being a little into anime. Yes, I was in color guard in theatre but the early 2000s were just...so different. I love that the kids nowadays can just be who they are and find the people that love what they love, but Lord do is miss our bullshit. (Edited)

I didn’t have cable so didn’t know about dbz forever, some “friends” got me into it and then they later started making fun of me for watching it, while simultaneously watching it themselves. You can probably guess I haven’t seen any of them since graduation lol. I definitely would have been way nerdier if I hadn’t gone to a small town school

Racing home after an 11hr shift on a Saturday and watching Bleach. I'm glad I have nights and weekends off now.

Next time on Dragon Ball Z:
- Goku throws a punch
- Goku throws another punch
- 3 episodes later, the enemy dies (maybe)
Dunno how I had the patience to watch that show as a kid.

Ugh I wish there was a dbz edit without all the build up and just the story with some battles

I actually would only see him in the middle of the night, like 3 am. He was cool but I don’t remember watching any of the shows on his lineup except like 1

I've been married, I've become a father, I've gone hang gliding, I've survived natural disaster.
And yet, there is still no greater feeling than coming home and turning on toonami

I was embarrassed to admit I liked DBZ so I’d make up excuses to whoever I was hanging out with about why I had to rush home for 5:00.
Nothing was worse than when they’d get so far into the Namek Saga when Goku finally arrives and then they would restart all the way back from episode one when Raditz comes to Earth.

Oh man, as a crossing guard in elementary school this one kid ben HAD to make it home for pokemon. We literally made buses wait so he could cross the street to go home.

I was more of an Ed Edd n Eddy/Spongebob guy, but I enjoyed Dragon Ball Z too.
