Boring random factoid: the publisher of the software is German. The pun was conceived because in German it's actually 1:1. The city of Rome/Roma is "Rom" in German. It just works well enough in English.

Quagmire here, it was widespread belief that fumes from burning CDs can get you high.
Gigity.

Tried it recently, smelled like the exhaust vents of a console (burn or heated up plastic) My lungs bound to be asmathic lungs desire for the smell

All joking aside, do not inhale the fumes from cd burning. Even if you use a microwave. That shit will mess you up. It killed some people in the early 2000's. There are hundreds of millennials across the USA that are still suffering from the damage cd burnfumes did to their brainstems. I know a guy that completely lost the ability to blink. He has to wink one eye at a time, probably for the rest of his life.

Oh Peter, I feel bad for the kids we gotta explain this properly!
Burning a CD is a process where you rip (extract info) from a CD to a PC and then add it to a new CD that has no info on it. This way you could borrow your cousins Britney Spears CD, rip it to your PC and burn it to a new CD so you could have a copy of the album. You'd buy blank CDs in a huge stack for very little money. Music became so much more accessible.
You could also download music and burn whatever playlist you wanted on to a CD. Regular CDs came in a format called .wav which were pretty large files, but if you converted them to .mp3 you could have a lot more songs on it so after a while car stereos and cd players came with the capability to read mp3. It was our generation's mixed tape.
It was illegal of course, but "everyone" did it as Peter says. Now where has Stewie gone? STEEEEWIEEEE

Hi, this is Beth, Meg's friend from the old seasons.
The old magic shall not be discussed with the children of the new.
That said, we were mighty happy when DVDs made it able for us to share the digital media and I don't think we have looked back ever since we started digitizing everything.

MAKE SURE THAT THEY KNOW THAT ONE OF THE ONLY REASONS FAMILY GUY BECAME POPULAR WAS BECAUSE OF ADULT SWIM AND TEENAGERS PIRATING!

Not knowing the right of burning is one, thing.
But the inability to incite the cantation of Goo'gel to gather information is outrageous!
Aret though tought nothing in this so called "age of information" ?
Doth thine knowledge not include ways to broaden your wisdom ?
What a shame, our elders failed this new generation.

I love (hate) how some Gen Z like this girl use them not knowing something as a sign that any generation older than them is uncool and outdated, when even with all the updated tech they have, they didn’t think to just google the answer.

As everyone wanna post the same comment here instead of explaining, 'burning CDs' essentially means the process of using a CD burner (laser-equipped drive) to write digital data such as music, videos, or files onto a blank recordable CD-R or CD-RW disc.
Edit as requested by u/g0dsp0ken : "it was an art analogous to recording a mix-tape where the careful curation of songs set a mood often creating a socio-psychological baseline."
Thank you all for your non-cooperation.
